  • Secluded cozy cabin, in the woods near lake Michigan - serenity

"My husband and I spent a weekend away from the busy Chicago. We were hoping to find a place away from people and noise, change the pace and enjoy the nature and each other company. This was the perfect place for it. I did not realize at the time of booking that the cabin was exactly what we were looking for. We were staying in a smaller of the two cabins, with one bedroom. It is clean and has everything. Surrounded by the woods, so we woke up to the sounds of rain, birds, crickets (no sirens, wow). Saugatuck, Fennville and other towns are very close - ~15 minutes - are busy (by local standards) and full of good restaurants (measure up to Chicago), wineries, cider breweries etc. We spent time on the semi-private beach, were drinking tea and watching sunset. Imagine a small beach all to yourself (well, maybe with 5-6 more people). So, if you are looking for some peace and serenity - this is a place for you. Enjoy. We will be back for sure. PS. The owner, Gaylon, was very responsive, we got the paperwork, keys and clear instructions and directions."

  • A Wonderful Week

"My family thoroughly enjoyed their second visit to this lovely lake house. The house is thoughtfully and beautifully laid out - there are spaces to gather together and spaces to spread out. The house has many special features including the shower room off of the master bedroom. Each bedroom is equipped with its own bathroom and shower. There is even an outdoor shower. Outside there are two decks and a screened porch. I was always the early riser and enjoyed a quiet coffee each morning on the porch. Then we used the beautiful and well appointed kitchen to make breakfast together for everyone. The days were filled with swimming and sun at Oval Beach, climbing Mt. Baldhead, shopping in nearby Saugatuck, Douglas, and South Haven, and even renting stand up paddle boards and "Craigcats" on the Kalamazoo River. We recommend eating at Crane's near Fenneville, Clementine's in South Haven, and the Wild Dog Grille in Douglas. We also recommend grilling, cooking, and dining in this beautiful home. Barbara was an excellent communicator and was quick to respond to emails. I'll be dreaming of returning to this Glenn retreat during the cold winter months."

  • Excellent Family Reunion Spot

"Our family had a great retreat here. Plenty of room. Well equipped. Two floors, two kitchens so there was privacy for all. We had our adult children with us as well as the young nieces and nephews. It was close to get to for both our Chicago and our Detroit area families. We loved the fire pit out back. Plus it was an easy walk to the lake for everyone. Plenty of hiking as well as a short drive to town for restaurants and entertainment. We love to play card games and we had more than enough room indoors and out. We will be back again. Thanks Roger!"

  • Quaint cottage within short walking distance of beach and downtown

"Great seven-day stay with a family of four. The house is perfect for families with small children. The proximity to the beach is fantastic; you can get there within five minutes. A great value for what you get. We can't wait to come back to South Haven."
