  • Everything we could want in a vacation rental

"Our family (4 adults and 3 kids) stayed here for a full week during the summer and really enjoyed ourselves. The description on VRBO is quite accurate. The house is large and airy and in excellent condition. The master bedroom was delightful with high ceilings and a private deck. The master bathroom is worth the price of admission all by itself. It has a huge shower with a bench and two shower heads. There is also a jacuzzi tub! The living room is large with two sofas (with built-in recliners) and a third stand-alone recliner. It has a new large TV with an internet connection (netflix) and wifi. The furnishings are very comfortable. The air conditioning made Lake Paw Paw especially pleasant in the summer heat. We slept four adults and three children here very comfortably and would gladly stay again. It is also within walking distance of two restaurants and a convenience store. The house faces Paw Paw Lake Road but the noise was pretty minimal especially at night. The owner, David, was very responsive to our inquiry for renting his house. He was quick to reply and it was a pleasure working with him. The only negative item to be aware if you aren't used to the area, is the Michigan plumbing. Well water in the area can smell a bit "sulfur-y". This was only an issue at the beginning of our stay and only the super-sensitive nose of our teen noticed it after day 2. The plumbing for the toilets is also a bit "tempermental" and you should be prepared to have a clear and complete discussion (as out lined in the house) with any young children or teens. We did not have a plumbing problem, but I could see that happening very easily. In short, it was all we could ask for."

  • Ladies kayak club

"What a fabulous place for a ladies weekend! We rented all 3 floors and were not disappointed. Having the kitchens available for breakfasts was time saving. At dinner we walked downtown to several restaurants - Casa is great Mexican and the Tavern was perfect for burgers and comedy night. The Asylum's location was ideal for our large group to split up for ice cream or shop after the day's paddle. Not one of the 13 women were disappointed with the Asylum... beds were comfortable and the place is very well kept. The kayaking was wonderful on both Lake Michigan and the river. Looking forward to a return trip! The Kayaker Konnection Where Women Rule the Waves"

  • A great family vacation spot in South Haven, MI

"My family and I have been vacationing in South Haven for the past 6 years with Marla and Jim. They have a fantastic house/apt on a side street on the south side of town. Just three short blocks from all the downtown activity, this vacation home is perfect for those looking for a quiet, peaceful, wonderfully decorated, and spacious place to stay. My whole family loves that it's convenient to all the sights and sounds of South Haven, and we love all the amenities that they offer (internet, dishwasher, washer, dryer, fenced in yard, grill etc). I wouldn't stay anywhere else with my family. Thank you Marla and Jim. You guys are fantastic!!!!!"

  • Fabulous Retreat

"We had the most wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating stay at Serenity Ridge! It was a magical place. Every evening we went down the road to the beach and experienced a glorious sunset. The house, which is tucked away into beautiful woods at the top of a ridge, is lovely and takes full advantage of the wooded setting. There are large windows, spacious rooms, updated baths and kitchen and a fabulous deck with a fire pit to enjoy! It is secluded, yet within an easy drive to Saugatuck, Douglas and Holland. Wonderful restaurants and shops, natural beauty and majesty. We highly recommend this lovely spot in breathtaking Southwestern Michigan."
