  • Perfect lake house

"This beautiful log cabin was a fantastic spot for our extended family gathering. It comfortably accommodated my parents, siblings, and kids; it had plenty of bed and bathrooms and generous living spaces, both indoors and out. The spacious open kitchen was fully equipped and fun to cook in as a group. They had a large selection of board games that the kids enjoyed one rainy morning. Nice big stone fireplace looked enjoyable if you were there in fall/winter. The place was very clean. We enjoyed relaxing and dining on the huge deck over looking the lake and the picnic table and bonfire pit at the water's edge. We had a great time on the lake itself, especially with the rented pontoon boat, a kayak, and fishing. Oftentimes, we were the only ones out on the water. Water temperature perfect for swimming while we were there in late June. Nice to have both a dock and good sized sandy beach of our own and graduated depth was perfect for little ones. The outdoor shower for rinsing off sand even had hot water! Large, lightly wooded yard was fun for games. The owner was very helpful and pleasant to work with. Highly recommend!"

  • Wonderful stay

"Our experience at Saddle Lake was very pleasant. The home is nice and despite the age, is fun and well-kept. The large room with all of the twin beds was a fun place for our kids to sleep and it was decorated in a cute way. The foosball table was a plus. The pontoon was a lot of fun and ran great. We loved that there were sand toys available for the kids. Jim, the property manager, was nice and very helpful. He was around a lot, which we did not mind. Our only issue was that a tornado touched down 1/4 mile from the house and there was no warning. We were relieved to be safe but we had a power outage for 12 hours. No one is to blame but it made for a long day and night. Overall, we recommend this property to anyone looking for a great family get-away on a lake with a fun beach and lots of space."

  • Outstanding stay at the Roost!

"Our two families (4 adults, 5 kids) just spent a week at the Roost and had the best time in our long history of coming to South Haven! The house was perfect for our needs, with the kids having ample space to hang out and sleep upstairs. The location is PERFECT, with South Haven being a 5 min walk away. We rented bikes one day and the 9 of us easily walked to get the bikes then biked to the 30-mile trail, also close to the Roost. The owner was incredibly responsive also throughout the process.... while out on our bike ride, I remembered we used the gas in the grill the night before... by the time we returned, it had already been refilled. Amazing. All the basics were covered of course: clean house, well maintained, etc. The Roost gets our highest possible recommendation!"
