  • We found the Cozy Cottage to be comfortable, cozy and well-equipped.

"We enjoyed our stay very much and found the general living space to be very spacious and comfortable for a small cottage. The bedroom spaces are on the small side. The outdoor space was very accommodating with a large deck including an eating area and a sitting area. In addition there was a fire pit with chairs and a deck level by the water with lounge chairs. We also enjoyed using the kayaks that were available. The cottage was nice and clean with comfortable furnitings. When we had questions for the owners, they were very quick to respond and easy to communicate with. Payne Lake is small, but nice and the location is centrally located to several cities, recreational areas, and an hour from Lake Michigan. We would recommend the Cozy Cottage to others."

  • Family Vacation

"This is our 3rd time renting these cottages. There have been several updates done since the first time: new sheets, blankets, pot & pans, silverware (enough for everyone), new docks and new appliances in the lower cottage. Had a wonderful week, rented both cottages for our extended families. Swimming was great, the lake was warm. Did several kayak and canoes trips thru the different lakes. The older kids especially enjoyed the fishing, caught enough that we had fish for dinner one night. Had a campfire several nites even though the weather was quite warm. Had one rainy day but there was easily enough room at the main house table for several rounds of cards which kids and adults enjoyed. Fred and Sue were very accommodating and the rental process was easy."

  • A well kept secret.

"Really nice cottage and property. Art was amazing! Was a little disappointed that it was not actually beachfront, but the common area was only a short walk. Wish we would of had WiFi but managed to live without a computer for two weeks. Overall, out of 10, we would give it an 11. Plan on going back next year and would highly recommend this place to anyone."

  • Beautiful, peaceful, and joyful cottage!

"The owners were very pleasant. The cottage was very accommodating and spacious. The lake has a sand bar about 75 yards out from the dock that we enjoyed floating out to and swimming at. There are comfortable lazy boy recliner chairs in living room, plenty of table space to eat at and tons of deck space to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. The fishing was pretty good as well. We caught numerous bass and sunfish right off of the dock and in the paddle boat close to shore. The bathrooms were sufficient although the downstairs was a little cramped for taller people such as myself but it was tolerable. Overall we had a very positive experience and would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway."
