  • Heavenly Haven stays true to its name!

"This roomy home was perfect to accommodate our extended family. The windows provide beautiful views of the lake. Three different floors provide enough room for people to be together, yet feel like they have their space as well. The basement level provides plenty of entertainment from a pool table, to air hockey, to foosball, to plenty of board games, books, and movies. In the back yard, plenty of entertainment also exists--kayaks, paddle boat, fishing gear, life jackets, corn hole game, campfire site, and grill. The 2 kitchens in the home were both completely stocked utensil/gadget wise with anything you could possibly need as far as cooking and cleaning goes. Plenty of clean towels and bedding also existed in the home. Upon arriving all bedrooms were completely clean and ready to be lived in. Bathrooms were also clean and fully stocked with towels, toilet paper, and soaps. An abundance of beach towels were also in the home ready to be used at the lake. Having an in home washer and dryer that could be used at anytime throughout the week was a definite plus as well. If you have little ones, there were plenty of toys they would enjoy as well. I also noticed a playpen was in the home, as well as, a high chair and play walker. These are just a few of the great features of the home. I would highly recommend this rental to anyone wanting to enjoy a peaceful setting full of natural beauty. The owner, Cindy, maintains a clean rental and is generous in what she supplies in the home. She is also very approachable and is more than willing to answer any questions one might have. Again, I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone wanting to experience an enjoyable, worthwhile get-a-way!"

  • Happy Family Memories!!!

"What a wonderful trip this was for our family. The stay at "Mello Yellow" was a very pleasant experience! We appreciated Monique and Scott sharing their beautiful home with us! The home was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. It was a pleasure to prepare meals in such a well equipped kitchen. I spent many happy Summer's in the Sisters Lakes area as a child and highly recommend this home for a peaceful, but fun filled family vacation. The booklet of local activities provided to us by the Strongs was throughly researched and user friendly. There were six of us, my husband and our two adult sons, wife and girlfriend. The home was comfortable for all of us including a disabled member of our group. We look forward to spending time together at "Mello Yellow" some time in the future. Karen Frankfort, Illinois"

  • Fantastic getaway!

"My husband and I along with our two dogs immensely enjoyed our 3 night stay. The cottage is comfortable, tastefully decorated and I don't know who is the cook in the family but they are my culinary soulmate-I travel with 3 types of salt including my truffle salt-so any home that is well stocked, has a decanter and aerator (we travel with ours just in case) is the place for us. We loved the lock gate system, dogs enjoyed the decks without issue. They LOVED the beach and even swam some. It's in a quiet, bosky and beautiful dead end street that adds to the bucholic charm. This was a stunning Autumn getaway that is such a quick 2 hour drive from Chicago. We really enjoyed following the food resource guide and went to local farms to purchase eggs, honey, produce and of course needed a pie. Don't try to get milk directly from a farmer-you need to be part of a herd share to do that in Michigan! A bit of food snubs, needed something to match our Gamay Noir, Oregon Pinot Noirs and Portuguese wine varieties and we found everything needed around. We enjoyed cooking in its nicely appointed kitchen. The garden is on a slope and we for one are thankful for it-after 15 min every few hours of active Jack Russell play, the dogs were tired. We enjoyed the personal touches that the Kins' placed in it-including pics of what I assume are places they have been, which turned out have been places we too have been. After traveling 65 countries and 245 cities around the world, we have focused mostly this year in the US. I say that only because we appreciated all the luxury comforts of the cottage and it's beautiful setting. This may have to be the dogs' annual fall getaway. We will highly recommend!"

  • Amazing rental!

"We just returned from a wonderful week at this property. The house is spacious, clean, and excellently maintained. We had 3 families, 6 adults and 7 kids, that fit easily in the house with room to spare. I was amazed at how well stocked the house was. Not only does it have the standard linens, but the kitchen includes common spices/condiments, the living room had plenty of board games, and the garage held a treasure-trove of bikes, chairs, and beach toys - including 2 kayaks that we were free to use. First house that we've rented together and can't wait to come back!"
