  • Amazing home away from home!

"We booked this house because we were looking for a nice family getaway with plenty of room for the four of us to sleep, hang out, and relax without feeling cramped and it was perfect! The house is set on a few acres which allowed us to feel disconnected without having to contend with neighbors, traffic, or shared spaces like at hotels or condos. A driveway sets the adorable house well off the street. There is a nice front porch looking out toward the street but on an open field. The back porch is screened with great couches and chairs looking out at the private pool and more fields. The house is so impeccably decorated you truly feel like you're staying at a good friend’s house where all of the colors and decoration are whimsical, warm, and happy. It's clear that the owners have spent a lot of time making this place their home away from home. There is plenty of living, dining, and sleeping space...enough that you never feel cramped or on top of each other. We were there for a few days and had great meals at Greenbush, Clean Plate Club, and the Greenbush Annex but still chose to cook a number of meals in the cooks kitchen that had every cooking implement, pot, pan, plate, bowl, or cup we ever needed. And finally, the pool! The pool was an amazing luxury. We went to the Warren Dunes one day but then spent the entire next day at the pool in the back yard. We brought a few inflatables with us for our kids 10 and 8 and just never got around or had reason to leave the pool. It was plenty warm outside but the pool also had a heater so we were never chilled even in the morning or evening. This heated outdoor pool would make for a great fall/winter/spring destination too. The pool reminded us of Italy; so peaceful and serene! The Greenbush Brewery, Clean Plate Club, Greenbush Annex, cute shops, grocery store, and farm market are all a 4 minute drive...very close. Warren Dunes is about 10 minutes away. FYI that there is a great beer selection at Greenbush and the market but there is a better wine selection at the Farm market behind Greenbush Brewery. If driving and you're a wine fan I might suggest bringing your favorites from home as the larger grocery store is further away...or hit the grocery on the way in. We loved Gentleman's Farm!"

  • Quaint little cottage was perfection!

"This quaint little cottage was a perfect trip for our family of four in late July. The cottage, just a short but steep climb from Lake Michigan, was the perfect respite from city life. Our kids, ages 8 and 3, loved the beach and we spent most of our time swimming and just hanging out as a family in the sand. We almost forgot it was a lake, the water was so warm and clear. The cottage itself boasted of a beautiful screened in porch that has the tranquility to rival a spa experience. The outdoor shower was one of my favorite experiences and we never set foot in the indoor shower because it was so enjoyable. All of the amenities worked great including the wifi and small tv/DVD player. Judy truly has made the cottage feel homey and stopped in to ensure we were doing well a few times during the stay. The eating in both St Joe and South Haven made the trip absolutely perfect. I 100% recommend Judy and the cottage...we will be back in many years to come!"

  • Family and Friends

"I just returned from my week in this house. I rented the house and others of my friends and family came and went during the week. The house was all it is advertised to be and more! We had as many as nine people in the house at a time and had plenty of room. It may be listed as a cottage, but the downstairs is open and spacious and was great for my grand children's birthday parties during the week we stayed. The kitchen is well equipped and it was wonderful to have the washer and dryer."

  • Nice small cottage with challenging stairs to sleeping area

"Let me start with the stairs to the sleeping area. They are very steep and the treads are short so only part of an adult foot fits on the stair. The pictures do not really show how steep they are. The sleeping is on the second floor and the only bathroom is on the 1st floor. We stayed for 4 nights in mid August and enjoyed the house and the area. The house is very clean and well maintained. We used the hot tub and found it clean. We spent one evening watching a movie from the provided DVD's. There are also books and magazines to keep you busy. The owners keep dishes, pots and pans as well as many other kitchen items for guests to use. We spent time hiking the sand dunes which are walking distance from the house. One can also walk to the beach if desired. If you drive to the beach there is a daily fee of $9 per car. We went up and down Red Arrow highway to visit many of the other towns along the lake. In Sawyer we ate at the Clean Plate for breakfast and the brewery for one of our dinners, both were very good. The best food we had was at Journeyman distillery's restaurant. The pizza there is amazing. If in St. Joseph's stop at Cabana's in downtown for the best ice cream you will ever have. We visited Round Barn brewery, winery and distillery one afternoon for some tastings, I would recommend. The market and produce stand in downtown Sawyer is a must stop as well. We enjoyed the house and would book again if traveling to this area."
