  • Peaceful Digs

"I was in a scramble to find a house for a girls weekend that didn't require a weeks stay and we found this gem! House and beds were nicely kept. Perfectly accommodated 10 people comfortably. Plenty of activities on site and close to downtown new buffalo and the wineries! Would stay again."

  • Perfect Michigan Escape!

"What a great weekend! We had so much fun at the “Welcome Back Cottage”. We spent two nights and two days enjoying this great house. There were a total of 10 of us – 3 couples and 4 kids. The adults each had their own bedroom downstairs and the kids were all upstairs. The upstairs is more of a bedroom/hang out space than it is a loft (it has a door at the top of the stairs for privacy and noise reduction!). The first night we went to a great distillery and restaurant in Three Oaks about a 10 a minute car ride. The second night the adults did some wine tasting at the Round Barn which is just up the road and the kids hung out at the house and ordered pizza and watched a movie on the comfy coaches in the living area. The house is so inviting and it’s decorated so cute and most importantly, it was nice and clean when we arrived. There is a relatively new bathroom and what looks like a brand new bathroom on the main floor as well as another living space with a coach and an oversized chair so we had plenty of room to spread out. The little town of Union Pier is very cute with a few stores/restaurants, although b/c we were there in off season, a few places were closed. They have a great little grocery store where we bought stuff to cook breakfast the first morning. The kitchen is beautiful (nicer than the one I have at home!) and had everything we needed to make a great meal. The one thing we were worried about was the train being so close, but we never heard it during the night. We did hear it just before 9am, but it passed within in seconds. We’ve stayed at other houses in the area and you can hear the train from pretty much anywhere. We didn’t do the beach b/c it wasn't beach weather, but we went down to look at it and it was a two min drive. We are looking forward to returning to this house in the summer to enjoy your he beach, alfresco dining and checking our more wineries."

  • Stunning well appointed home right on Lake Michigan!

"Our annual girls getaway weekend this year was in Union Pier. From the minute we arrived, we fell in love with the home. It is truly stunning. The views are incredible. It has everything you need to relax and enjoy a weekend in Michigan right on the lake. We had a wonderful time inside and out including the short walk down to the beach."

  • Cozy, clean and comfortable.

"We spent a very nice long weekend at Union Pier, with East of Eden as our home base. The cottage is just the right size for two adults. With a single bathroom I would not recommend it for more than a family with very small children if at all. We had our 55# Lab with us and he was quite comfortable, although the nearest dog friendly beach was some drive away. The cottage is very clean, nicely updated and thoughtfully equipped for an extended stay. You can get peace and quiet prior to the end of May but we suspect after that it's going to be a lively place. The owners were especially nice and we felt as if they are loaning us their cottage for the weekend."
