  • Wonderful choice for a family gathering!

"We knew that this rental would have the bed space we would need to bring our far flung family together. But we were delighted at how spacious and lovely it really was. This is relatively new construction that is well built and well maintained. There were open areas that were so comfortable for gathering and visiting. The screened porch got a lot of use from first coffee in the morning into the night. We were lucky with weather and were able to have a bonfire almost every evening in the yard. Lots of wood was supplied. The bikes in the garage got used regularly. There was nothing that we wanted for. We did find the walk to the beach was too much for many family members, a combination of age and heat, but with purchase of a state park pass we used cars to shuttle people back and forth. If the opportunity arose we wouldn't hesitate to return!"

  • Fantastic property with beach access

"Our family of 6 rented this property for a week in Southwestern Michigan and thoroughly enjoyed it. The home is immaculate and clearly well cared for. There are three bedrooms and it sleeps six easily. One room has twin beds, one a double (full) bed, and the master has a queen size bed with plenty of room for an air mattress or a pack-n-play. We had an out of town visitor who came with us and she slept on a queen sized air mattress in the master bedroom with no problem. There are two full baths and one has a tub. If you have little ones, that's likely a bonus for you. The downstairs has a lovely powder room/laundry room area off of the kitchen as well. The floor plan is totally open downstairs. There is a living room that opens to a dining room and both are well suited for up to 6 people. The kitchen is serviceable for making your own meals and there's a very nice sun room that overlooks the back yard. The back yard isn't huge, but large enough for us to set up our bags (corn hole) game. There's a cute deck off of the sun room that overlooks the back yard and we enjoyed morning coffee there. The beach access is a 5 minute walk away with a lengthy set of stairs that descends to a narrow private beach. Overall, we didn't use the beach much because it's really so incredibly rocky. We found ourselves spending a couple of days in St Joe at Silver Beach in lieu of using our beach. The home is close to berry-picking (if you're there at the right time of year), Paw Paw Lake, Lake Michigan, and many wineries. The location is very good. Our contact for the property always responded promptly and was easy to interact with. It was a very simple transaction. This house is not your typical beat up rental property. It's really very, very nice. I'd buy this house. :)"

  • Relaxing with Family

"We enjoyed wildlife viewing, making smores, and rocking on the lake swing. The clean, well-appointed property was just a few minutes away from Pokagan State Park which was a plus for those of us who like to hike. The owner was responsive and easy to contact. My family and I already talked about a return visit next fall."

  • Couldn't have been happier!

"Nine family members and 2 dogs from Chicago, Kansas and Maryland met for a week at Sunset Cottage and had a great time! The house was spacious and suited all of our needs. There was nothing we didn't need that the house didn't have. It goes without saying that the sunsets were AMAZING! We loved the screened in porch, the hot tub, and the private beach! The location was one thing we weren't sure of, and we ended up loving it! We easily visited many amazing towns nearby including St. Jo, South Haven and Saugatuk. The only slightly negative things to mention are that the steps down to the beach are very steep and pretty rickety in spots. Those of us under 65 managed them just fine, but it is some work but well worth it for the private beach and all the fun amenities that are included in the shed for our use. Also, we noticed that the basement area was really cold compared to the main level. Would've been nice to have that evened out a bit so we could hang out more in the amazing basement space more. The management team for this property was amazing to work with! THANK YOU!"
