  • We loved this house!

"Such a nice place for a family vacation! Between the sun, the surf, the wildlife, and the peace, it's very hard to say what we enjoyed the most! The kitchen and dining area was magnificent, the enclosed patio was charming, and the hot tub was refreshing! And then there were the sunsets! It was just the perfect place to get off the grid for a few days! Thank you for sharing this with us!"

  • Dee from Valparaiso, Indiana

"We have rented this adorable cottage for the last 5 years for a family girls getaway week, ages 1-80! We love the location, so easy to walk to the beach or downtown restaurants and shopping. The large sun deck and fenced in yard are a big plus, great hangout spot for morning coffee or drinks at night and the little ones have a place to play. We came back this year for Memorial Day weekend and noticed several improvements, the deck and fence have been redone and the kitchen has new appliances. The rooms looked fresh and bright with a new coat of paint. The house has always been clean for us, we appreciate not having to bring linens and don't mind washing them before we leave. The owner has been responsive to questions and wants to make sure we have a great stay. Memories are made in South Haven, we'll be back for sure!"

  • perfect retreat

"This home is beautiful, the owners have taken great care into making sure each room is comfortable, and relaxing whether young or old. We are a family of six, and each person found an area where they could relax but had stayed earlier in the year for a family gathering and it accommodated three families comfortably. Just a short walk to the beach....perfect place to stay no matter the season! Highly recommended, well worth it."

  • Nice small cottage with challenging stairs to sleeping area

"Let me start with the stairs to the sleeping area. They are very steep and the treads are short so only part of an adult foot fits on the stair. The pictures do not really show how steep they are. The sleeping is on the second floor and the only bathroom is on the 1st floor. We stayed for 4 nights in mid August and enjoyed the house and the area. The house is very clean and well maintained. We used the hot tub and found it clean. We spent one evening watching a movie from the provided DVD's. There are also books and magazines to keep you busy. The owners keep dishes, pots and pans as well as many other kitchen items for guests to use. We spent time hiking the sand dunes which are walking distance from the house. One can also walk to the beach if desired. If you drive to the beach there is a daily fee of $9 per car. We went up and down Red Arrow highway to visit many of the other towns along the lake. In Sawyer we ate at the Clean Plate for breakfast and the brewery for one of our dinners, both were very good. The best food we had was at Journeyman distillery's restaurant. The pizza there is amazing. If in St. Joseph's stop at Cabana's in downtown for the best ice cream you will ever have. We visited Round Barn brewery, winery and distillery one afternoon for some tastings, I would recommend. The market and produce stand in downtown Sawyer is a must stop as well. We enjoyed the house and would book again if traveling to this area."
