  • We loved it for the second year in a row!!

"Once again we had an amazing, relaxing, spacious week at the Top of the Rock. The view is incredible! So much so that we took a time lapse video from the top balcony of sunset and the sunrise, even caught two deer having breakfast in the field in front of the cabin. If you wake up right about sunrise you almost every morning will catch a few dear close to the cabin. One morning we saw an enormous buck, antlers still in velvet. In addition, we used the kayaks, rode bikes (we do recommend a seat pad as those roads are hard on the backside.) Hiked our hearts out and visited all the points of interest on the map. If you have a chance the hike to the lighthouse is worth it. The cabin was perfect and the check in/check out process easy. We appreciate the opportunity and hope to be back again next year! ~ the Esteve's"

  • Summer fun close to Cheboygan River

"It was a very clean and well kept home close to the Cheboygan river. Very comfortable with lots of amenities. Owners were very pleasant and reacted quickly to problems. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting to do water sports. Close to numerous restaurants."

  • Fun on the Lake

"My husband and I spent a week in early September in order to visit his childhood home of Mackinaw City. He grew up there and knew where he wanted to be: on the shore of Trails End Bay, which he considers the best swimming in the area. We had a blast. Swam every late afternoon and then watched the most gorgeous sunsets. Spent the days visiting his childhood friends and favorite places. VERY impressed by the trails in Wilderness State Park. The cottage is comfortable, functional, traditional. The lot is perfect for views and access to great swimming. We participated in the famous Labor Day bridge walk. Loved working the challenging puzzles. Appreciated the DVD selection. Dick and Sue were helpful whenever we had a question. Almost no cell phone coverage, but we considered that a lucky break - granted us a real rest. Thanks for a great vacation."

  • Awesome home away from home!

"We stayed here for two weeks this summer after spending the previous ten years or so staying a little further north near Hessel. A bunch of date conflicts kept us from renting out there this year, so we cast our net a little further out to find a place. St. Ignace is familiar to our family, so we decided to take a chance on a new place and picked this one, as it was in our price range and we liked the view from the photos. Boy, did we luck in to a great house! The owner is great to work with and super responsive. He wants to make sure you enjoy all that St. Ignace has to offer, and that's a lot! We enjoyed the Saturday night fireworks right from the back deck (twice!), the downtown area with shops, marina, amenities and other attractions is literally a couple blocks away and an easy walk. There are three parks nearby, one with a splash pad for the kids, plus play equipment and places to wade in the lake. All three ferry services to Mackinac Island are within walking distance along the boardwalk, or a short car or bike ride if you prefer. There is a Dollar General down along the boardwalk, and a full-service grocery store just a short ride up the hill behind the house (walkable for the adventurous, I suppose). The Trading Post a little north on Busuness 75 has a full-service butcher shop with fresh meats and some great prepared foods, too. We like to cook at home some days and eat out on days when we are out of the area. The kitchen in the house has a decent stock of cookware and utensils, making it easy to prepare meals at home. There is a gas grill outside and an electric stove in the kitchen. St. Ignace has a good number of restaurants in town. Some of our favorites include the Driftwood, Fred's Pub, Clyde's (which still has car-hop service!), BC Pizza, the Trading Post... And we still haven't tried some of the other places in town yet, but they look good! St. Ignace itself has events almost every day in the summer. In addition to the fireworks, there is live music on a few evenings, historical tours and events, movies in the park, daytime events at the library... Seriously, if you come here and are bored, you're doing it wrong! All that said, our favorite thing to do here has probably been to sit on the back deck and just watch the boats go by. Totally relaxing. Great house, great owner. Thank you for making our stay so relaxing!"
