  • Stunning views and home. Great location. Stay here if you can.

"My son's Grandfather and I stayed the better part of a week at the home for my son's graduation. The privacy of the beach is about perfect. We had bon fires a few different nights. Late April was chilly, but the sun sets and a smaller bon fire could not be beat. The home is very nice. The living areas areas are beautiful, with the living, dinning and main bedroom having perfect views of the Lake. The location was great split between Copper Harbor and Tech. We spent a fair amount of time in each location and as I remember it, they are each about a 20 minute drive. I went to Tech and have traveled back to the UP for vacations for years. This is nicest home and has the most private beach of any place I have stayed at. The owners were very responsive to calls and emails, and without question I will stay here again if I can."

  • It was perfect stay for the four of us.

"It very clean and comfy with a lot of extras that you don't find a most other places. It's much more relaxing than the local motels. We would stay there again. Joe Girskis"

  • Little slice of paradise!!!

"There is not much I can add to these reviews that hasn't already been said! This is a fantastic place!!! Just book it! The house really does have everything! I wasn't sure what to expect for kitchen items so I came prepared with Tupperware containers, ziploc bags and spices I wanted to use for specific recipes. Bottled water isn't a must, but there is an iron taste to the water for the first day or two, so if you don't think you will be able to get past that go ahead and bring it. Oh, and bring chip clips!! We were thrilled to be able to bring our 12 year old German Shorthaired Pointer along on our trip. It was his first time on a beach and had a great time exploring! Being the end of October he, and we, definitely were not doing any swimming! But this would be absolutely amazing in the summer!!! Despite the typical late Fall weather (constant cloud cover and intermittent periods of misting) we found plenty to do. The drive along the western side of the peninsula is spectacular! Tons of roadside parks, places to hike, and waterfalls! Mountain bike enthusiasts will love Copper Harbor, and Brockway Mountain Drive from Copper Harbor to the West is jaw dropping! Absolutely worth a drive to Copper Harbor for anyone. Definitely come prepared to have typical town amenities out of your close reach. And if you come in the "off-season" be prepared for many restaurants to be closed. We are used to this so we did plenty of research prior to the trip on what would be open and were just overall flexible with what we were "planning to do" (not much!). Calumet is pretty bustling and not too far from the house and has grocery stores, gas stations, etc. Todd was easily reachable and quick to respond to all of our questions. Thank you for sharing your property with us!"

  • Great Stay

"This cottage was perfect, right on the waters edge of Portage Lake, only 4 miles from MTU's campus and town. Very comfortable and cozy, no noise from the highway, a well furnished kitchen and plenty of space. Planning on a return visit soon."
