  • Great Home! Great Location!

"So nice to meet the owners of this great property. What great hosts! Like the other reviews have already stated, Mary and Jim are very responsive and accommodating. The home and property are well maintained and the setting is absolutely perfect! So much to see and do while staying there. As far as amenities go, anything we could possibly need was already provided. We had a fun and relaxing time! Our biggest surprise was the number of deer families we saw during the day along the road or crossing the highway. It must have something to do with how friendly the folks are in the eastern part of the U.P."

  • Great Location for Exploring the Eastern U.P.!

"The lodge provides all the comforts of home with a wonderful view of Caribou Lake. The house and grounds are neat and clean; the kitchen is stocked for the gourmet chef. The two of us and our Labrador retriever thoroughly enjoyed the serenity of quiet, early Fall mornings watching the sun rise over the lake and sunsets at the campfire. We appreciated the option of fishing Caribou Lake (public access site just up the road) or a short (10-15-minute) drive to access the St. Mary's River at Raber Bay for muskie/walleye/pike fishing. The freighter watching was a bonus! Exploring the Soo area and Lake Superior is an easy 45 minute drive. We highly recommend Tyler's Caribou Lake Lodge to those who seek a peaceful, relaxing vacation in the Eastern Upper Peninsula."

  • Excellent!

"We stayed in this home the week of July 17th, 2016. We were traveling with 7 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room for all of us. The home was clean, well decorated. It has a wonderful, relaxing cabin feel with an incredibly beautiful view. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. The town of Hessel is an easy walk from the home and has a marina/ice cream/coffee store, and small grocery/restaurant, and a higher end restaurant that, apparently, is a culinary school. The home is approximately 15 minutes to Saint Ignace and a short drive to I-75. We visited Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls (beautiful!), Mackinac Island, Clyde's burger restaurant, (excellent burgers), a deer ranch (Kids LOVED this), and we hiked many area trails. (Including Narnia Trail right down the road). Everything was convenient and we were always glad to come"home" at the end of the day. We highly recommend this cabin."

  • Perfect Place for a Family Vacation!!!

"This area of the UP is truly a hidden gem, yet this is not tourist oriented. It’s the perfect place for a family vacation! We have been renting this house for the past 3 years and absolutely love it! It’s a great location, quiet, the house is clean and has all the essentials, the guest house is great for the older kids to hang out, there is plenty of parking, close to town and the Islington Channel is the perfect location on the water. It’s nice to have the boathouse to keep the boat and all the swimming toys in and there is plenty of dock space outside the boathouse. The owner and manager are awesome to work with! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back again next year!!"
