  • The best spot to rent a cabin in the area - close to Pictured Rocks, Grand Marais and Munising

"We had such a wonderful time. It was me, my wife, my daughter and my dog. There's everything you could possibly want here including Lake Side, in the Woods, far away from everything but still within reach of services. There are all amenities here including satellite tv, wifi, land line phone, 1 full bathroom and extra shower room, two bedrooms, full kitchen with all the goodies, dishwasher, garbage disposal, etc. If you come during winter months there's a wonderful wood burning stove to keep you warm on the chilly nights and they keep the driveway cleared often. There's space if you have a trailer full of snowmobiles too. Lots of back up areas and a circular driveway next door. Wonderful view of the lake here, what a great place!"

  • Great experience

"Our vacation was wonderful! The breeze off the harbor was amazing and we sat on the deck and watched herons fly in, and people boat in the harbor. We drove 2 minutes to watch a fantastic sunset every night and our grandson swam at various wonderful beaches. Glad we brought a lot of food because there were only a couple of restaurants in Grand Marais. Drove to Munising and Whitefish Bay, each an hour from Grand Marais. Wonderful time!!"

  • Perfect cozy getaway, central location

"We loved our three nights in the Historic Hotel Grand Marais. The rental is very clean and cozy with cute and thoughtful decor. We loved all the special touches throughout. It was the perfect setting for our UP adventure and a great location for Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls and the Shipwreck Museum. The town is charming with many quirky and interesting little museums. The beach is beautiful, great for collecting beach stones and within walking distance."

  • Cute little house in a quiet town

"My husband and I recently stayed in Grand Marais for a weekend getaway in October. We were super excited to go kayaking at Pictured rocks while seeing the fall colors and see everything that the UP had to offer. Little did we know the winds would pick up and everything would be cancelled for the entire weekend (Just and FYI in case you are traveling in October). Regardless, we still got to see everything around the Pictured Rocks area (Sable fall is beautiful!) and even ventured out to Tahquamenon Falls. Everything was still beautiful in the wind and rain! Grand Marias proved to be a great middle spot to be able to venture out to both. The house was very clean and perfect for a laid back getaway. The owner was easy to get ahold of and had everything ready for us when we got there. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because of the lack of cable. It would've been nice to wake up and watch TV with breakfast or watch in the evening. There were at least movies and games.....and we had each other (ha!) so that was fun but a little TV would've been nice. Luckily the rain didn't put too much of a damper on being able to get out so we weren't at the cottage much, which is what I suppose most people do. So if you don't mind that then it's a perfect place for a great price. Some other tips: There is not much for food (restaurants and grocery) in the area. Not sure if it's because of the time we went or not (October). The only place for breakfast was a small diner. Food is great but takes awhile to get. If you are not in a hurry to catch a tour than it will probably be no big deal. When we were there a food truck parked down the street and we checked her out on the final morning. Fantastic! Awesome options for a great price (the donuts melt in your mouth). If she is there check her out! Someone else mentioned no wine opener. That is very true and we are very thankful for that review. Ha! We brought our own and it was great. Maybe we missed it somewhere but just and FYI."
