  • Beautiful views!

"Just returned from a great weekend in the Keewenaw, and this rental worked perfectly to celebrate our son's graduation from Michigan Tech. My husband and I had 3 of our kids and my mom along, and there was plenty of room for everyone - could have slept many more! The only negative of the house was having only one shower, but we made it work. We had bonfires both nights down by the pond, paddled the canoe around, watched 2 gorgeous sunsets and enjoyed stargazing as well. We hosted 15 people for dinner after graduation, so we appreciated the 2 dining tables and grill. By far the best feature of the property is the view from the house toward the meadow and pond with the hills beyond - so beautiful! We didn't have much time this visit, but we did fit in a quick stop at Hungarian Falls and a trip to Racers Burgers in Hancock - yum! I only wish we had discovered this place 5 years ago when our son started at Mich Tech... it was so much more comfortable and private for our whole family than the Country Inn and Suites!"

  • Great cabin, quiet in nature surrounded by trees and birds

"We had a great time in this cabin. We loved the porch around three sides of the house where you could always find the sun or shade at any time of the day. Enjoyed the quiet and the singing of the birds while reading and having my coffee. Supermarkets are 10 min away. The towns Houghton and Hancock give some fun things to do (15 - 20 min. drive), have some good local restaurants and coffee shops and are beautifully located along the big canal. A must stop is K.C. Bonkers Toys and Coffee in Hancock. This place is a blast with the best coffee in town and fun magical soda creations that children will get a kick out of, like dragon blood with Unicorn milk! Even my 14 year old liked it, so it is not too childish. Plus you can play some great family games while drinking your coffee. We had a great brunch at Suomi restaurant with a Finnish pancake, kind of custard thick with strawberry jam and cardamom toast, yum. It is not expensive. I highly recommend to go see the sunset at McClain State Park, a scenic drive from Hancock going East. We also toured the peninsula one day, Calumet is a neat town to visit, go to Connie's Kitchen to try a local Pasty. Then we took the scenic Brockway Mountain Drive, which was not scenic at all, until you get to the top with a beautiful view of the lake and surroundings. Driving down to Copper Harbor you have some more small scenic parking spots. Copper Harbor is very small, we were frankly not impressed but also tired of touring the whole day. It does seem to be a great place for some biking and hiking and possibly kayaking. The drive along the lake shore on the North -East was also very beautiful. There was plenty more to explore, but we did not have enough time, plus we also enjoyed staying at the cabin and breathing in the fresh air and enjoying the calm. They also have a sauna if you like that. The master bedroom is in the basement, it has a concrete floor with many rugs on it. The kids slept in a roomy loft with two queen beds on the bottom of the bunk beds which was a great place for them. I am sure you will have a good time here."

  • Yet another perfect Lake Superior vacation

"We stayed the week of 8/30. Perfect weather, hot and sunny with one rain day to break things up. No flies this year. Lots of interesting places to visit in the area but the beach and sauna are great, as usual we stayed put the entire week. Can’t wait for next year! Kirstie and Fred Three Lakes, WI"

  • Great location and beach

"My family and I were needing a great hideaway yet accommodating place for one of my daughter's college graduation. This place was perfect. It had all the amenities, space and spectacular view that made this trip for us. We played the games and enjoyed the water so much. It's only about 25 mins to Houghton and there is so much to see and do and the property is centrally located to get around. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook some meals. I highly recommend this property."
