  • Great Location between Holland and Grand Haven

"This house is perfect for 4 couples. Great for families, however small kids really need a watchful eye because of all the steps. This house was very clean. The house has 4 levels, master on 4th level and the other bedrooms are on the 3rd level. Main living on the 2nd floor. There is plenty of room for everyone. The basement has all the beach supplies anyone would need, toys, chairs, umbrella's you name it they have it. You have your own private beach and right around the corner is an area for beach volleyball if you like. A short walk down the board walk makes walking to the beach very easy. Wonderful Lake Michigan views from the house and most of the bedrooms. The screened in porch is great. We spent most of our time on the front deck. There are no complaints. The owners were easy to work with. I hope to go back to this house again. I really like the dates in/out being on Friday's it's so much better than Saturday-Saturday. (when you get home from your trip, you still have the weekend to catch up before going back to work) Another great trip to Lake Michigan!"

  • Summer 2016 week in Grand Haven

"The location was ideal for our family being near to the beach but not on the beach. The beach was outstanding! The home was very attractive, upscale, and very suited to our needs. The bedroom sets, one set each side of the house with jack & jill bathrooms in between functioned very well for our children and grandchildren. The kitchen was very accommodating and used it on most nights to prepare meals in the home. The property and home were very clean and well maintained. The "great room" was a very comfortable space and thoughtfully laid out. It facilitated family gatherings in the evenings for conversations, games and fun! The basement was a bonus, giving a place for the grandchildren to play and be children. The musical fountain in Grand Haven, and the street performers in Holland are a must see! We would recommend this home to any family looking for their vacation Home Away!"

  • A wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage

"We enjoyed our stay at "the cottage in the woods" so much and will hopefully go back again one day! We are a family of four, and this cottage had plenty of space for us. We have older kids, so the floorplan was perfect for us. (there are stairs up to two of the bedrooms.. The master bedroom is on the first floor). The cottage is even more spacious than the photos show. We loved how this cottage is decorated and stocked with everything!! And we enjoyed having coffee and breakfast on the front patio as well as in the beautiful sunroom some mornings. The description is correct, we enjoyed the lake breeze since this house is basically across the street from the lake. Our kids enjoyed riding bikes on the quiet road the cottage is on, and we were able to use the nearby bike paths easily too. We drove to get to the beach, but it's not very far. We loved the location of this cottage so much!! We would try to bring a child's size bike on our next trip because the bikes provided are all adult bikes. And, we would recommend some repairs to the bikes. But, everything else was wonderful!!! Thanks for the great family memories!!!"

  • Magical Experience

"Another delightful week at the guesthouse. It really has become our second home & I dream of it all year long from sunny, dry Colorado. The house is just perfect with everything we need & I have grown attached to all its beautiful rooms. My highlights are early morning coffee on the porch with Squeaky the cat, daily bicycle trips through the forest to the beach, the tunnel of trees overhead, the peaceful green of the trails, an occasional encounter with wild turkeys, finding a solitary place on the beach near the seagulls whose cries & the pounding surf seem the absolute essence of a beach vacation. The swimming in Lake Michigan is wonderful & the inland lake & connecting lagoon, perfect for kids. After a busy, stressful year you can just feel it all drop away & healing takes over. Jan, Garret & Peter are the perfect hosts & a joy to spend time with. This is our third year with them & they feel like family. One of our guests is handicapped & the first floor bedroom accomodates him nicely. Can't wait to return next year!"
