  • My stay at Hanna's Cabana

"I brought my 5 grandkids and a couple of my adult children came up just for the weekend we loved the cottage it is close to downtown the girls had a good time walking around downtown we could walk over to the boardwalk just a couple blocks and we walked every day to the beach which was about 1 mile down the paved boardwalk The cottage was definitely cottage like and you did not have to worry about kids spilling things or messing it up it was very nice there was sitting for 6 to 8 at the dining room table and another seating for six in the backyard My brother and sister from Idaho also rented a different Cottage just a street away my place with the gathering place for all we had plenty of room for sitting inside and out we had a wonderful time and I would rent it again if I went back to Grandhaven for an extended stay"

  • Great Escape!

"We just returned from a four night stay in August. By the time I booked in Feb/March, only the two smaller cabins were left, but we were able to fit two families of 4-5 members each into each cabin. The cabins were very clean. AC unit in one and central air in the other. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a few dish towels, wash cloths and larger towels provided in a laundry basket. You could leave the basket out with dirty towels and a request for replenished paper products on Monday and Thursday. Lots of dishes and utensils provided. You can tell the owner, Jeff, and his family takes great pride in this property. Jeff lives onsite and can be seen often doing work around the grounds. Very friendly and talkative :). It looked like there were maybe two other family groups on the property at the same time, but it never felt crowded. There is a nice sized beach, lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play and a "game garage" complete with bikes of all sizes (bring helmets), foosball, shuffleboard and a few other things. Water smelled a little funny (maybe just because we are city folk!) Water pressure and temperature were good. We drank bottled water. Meijer is just off the main expressway about 10 min down the road. There is a mom and pop corner store a two minute walk if you need pop, chips, etc. but I wouldn't do big shopping there. Bring your own fishing poles. There were canoes and kayaks to use and some provided sand toys, noodles and a few inflatables. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!"

  • The Blue House is an Outstanding place to relax with your family.

"This was our third year at what my grandson calls "The Blue House". He said "I love the Blue House" as we were packing to go home. I think that says it all! The house is nicely decorated and has everything that we needed for a great week on the lake. Waking up to look out on the lake from the deck is something we all enjoyed. The lake itself has very clean and clear water. We swam, paddled, fished, and boated all over the lake. My grandson was very excited to catch his first Pike right off the dock this year. The owner takes very good care of the house. It's clean and everything is in good working order. She has a very useful list of everything that is available at the house which makes planning what to bring very easy. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan on returning for our week at the "Blue House" again next year."

  • Enjoyed The Sound Of The River!

"We stayed here during mid-October when the leaves were just starting to change. We were welcomed by the gas stove already going for some heat. Wally came over & chatted with my husband who was already down by the river. He hadn't wasted any time putting his fishing pole to use. They allowed us to bring our 2 dogs which was another plus. We enjoyed walking the property with our dogs & sitting down by the river listening to the sounds. We did a little bit of sightseeing to some nearby towns which we thoroughly enjoyed! The last day there Wally called to give us a heads up about a Bald Eagle he had just seen. My husband happened to be outside and was able to see it which was a nice treat. We found our stay there very peaceful & quiet and would definitely recommend it. Also, found the guest book a special treat to read! Thank you for sharing your home by the river!"
