  • Great place/location!

"The home is comfy and quaint. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It's perfect for a family as you have plenty of option to keep the little ones occupied. The large drive way with basketball hoop and grill was perfect for the kids to be outside but yet still in eyes view. And obviously the best part was the walk down to the private beach. We just loved the views and solitude. We would defiantly recommend and hope to be back in the future. Ps owners were great to work with. Very accommodating and response time was quick."

  • Family Vacation

"This was our first official family vacation for our family of 4 (two small boys aged 3 & 5). My oldest suffers from multiple severe food allergies, so traveling away from home in SE MI and our kitchen has always been a scary thought. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The home was beautiful, spacious and clean. The numerous decks were a nice place to relax. The kitchen had all the amenities that one could ask for, however we only used it sparingly to warm up food brought from home for my son while we dined at the numerous restaurants in close proximity. One hidden gem we thoroughly enjoyed was the Arboreal Inn located in Spring Lake tucked away from the main Grand Haven restaurants (which were a short 10 min drive max). We enjoyed the beach several days of our stay which was a ridiculously short walk across the street. We loved the quiet, private beach over the packed, public beach. Having two small children also meant early bed times so we enjoyed being able to take a walk every evening on the beach to watch the incredible sunsets and get back home promptly for bed time. We also took a few day trips to neighboring areas where unfortunately we totaled our car barely 2 days into our trip. Thankfully no one was hurt and we were able to get a rental car and continue on with our trip. I have to think the beautiful setting and perfect location enabled us to continue to enjoy the remainder of our vacation. There was also a small issue with the modem going out during our stay causing the internet, tv and phone to go out. The owners took care of the issue that was beyond their control promptly and didn't cause us any problems. We are incredibly happy our first vacation was a success (other than the car accident) and plan to make this a repeated destination. We highly recommend Morning Star Cafe for breakfast and the submarine museum in Muskegon was a short 30 min drive and fun for small children."

  • Spacious and convenient

"This place is huge! There is plenty of space for entertaining, with two living rooms, a dining room, a full kitchen, and an outdoor patio. There is also a nice separation between bedrooms if you are planning on multiple families / couples. We brought our black lab with Renee's permission and it was perfect for him. The location is very walkable to the downtown area and even better if you have a bike. The missing star is due to the rather uncomfortable beds. Also, we felt the checkout time at 10:30am was a bit early. However, Renee did allow us to checkin early so she may be willing to work with you on times. A train never came through so we never got our smashed pennies! Maybe next time. :)"

  • Great vacation spot!

"We had been planning a family trip to western Michigan and looking for a property that was nice, had amenities, and was in a great location for an affordable price was a challenge, but this property delievered! We are grateful to have found it. It was clean and had a cute, beachy feel. Would be great for groups of friends/family, as the upstairs is sort of one space with multiple divided sleeping areas so there is privacy but you're all together. The ceiling was pretty low up there in spots so would be ideal for kids and a little tight if you're tall so something to keep in mind depending on your group. One separate master bedroom downstairs. Easy walk to downtown. Longer but doable walk to the beach - also a trolley available and bikes in the garage to use! Would definitely recommend and stay again. Grand haven was a fun, quaint town and a great time!"
