  • Spacious and convenient

"This place is huge! There is plenty of space for entertaining, with two living rooms, a dining room, a full kitchen, and an outdoor patio. There is also a nice separation between bedrooms if you are planning on multiple families / couples. We brought our black lab with Renee's permission and it was perfect for him. The location is very walkable to the downtown area and even better if you have a bike. The missing star is due to the rather uncomfortable beds. Also, we felt the checkout time at 10:30am was a bit early. However, Renee did allow us to checkin early so she may be willing to work with you on times. A train never came through so we never got our smashed pennies! Maybe next time. :)"

  • The property is beautiful and has great access to the beach and wonderful views.

"We absolutely loved our vacation. Jim and Dawn were fantastic! We have stayed at many condos, but this one was one of the best in regards to having a fully equipped kitchen for meal preparation. In addition, Jim and Dawn provide other little "add-ons" including a couple of beach chairs, beach towels and a welcome gift. You could not ask for better landlords/hosts."

  • We were so pleased with the shabby chic cottage

"The cottage was exactly as pictured. It was only a short drive from the beach, pier and downtown shopping. It was also close to large convenience stores which made it easy to stock up on needed supplies. The owner furnished sheets, towels, washcloths, dishes, pots/pans, dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other cleaning supplies. The washer/dryer was an added perk. There were even solo cups and paper plates (just not sure if she supplied them or if they were left by another renter). It is an older home but it was clean and well maintained. The cottage does have an older scent; having worked in antiques for many years I can say the scent is that of the older furnishings and nothing time, a simple air freshener or candle won't mask. Heather was great to work with: she texted, emailed and showed up when she said she would. We especially loved that she had toys and chalk for the kids to play with and that the kids had their own little dining table for meals. I would definitely recommend the cottage to friends and relatives. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that I wished it had room darkening blinds/shades and a small window air conditioner in the small bedroom upstairs would have been nice. We had to keep the bedroom door open to make sure the entire upstairs stayed cool which it did with the one air conditioner and fans supplied by the owner. But with or without the shades and extra air conditioner, we would definitely rent the Madison shabby chic cottage again for our next visit to Grand Haven, Michigan. Loved it!!!!"
