  • Great Escape!

"We just returned from a four night stay in August. By the time I booked in Feb/March, only the two smaller cabins were left, but we were able to fit two families of 4-5 members each into each cabin. The cabins were very clean. AC unit in one and central air in the other. Paper towels, toilet paper, and a few dish towels, wash cloths and larger towels provided in a laundry basket. You could leave the basket out with dirty towels and a request for replenished paper products on Monday and Thursday. Lots of dishes and utensils provided. You can tell the owner, Jeff, and his family takes great pride in this property. Jeff lives onsite and can be seen often doing work around the grounds. Very friendly and talkative :). It looked like there were maybe two other family groups on the property at the same time, but it never felt crowded. There is a nice sized beach, lots of grassy areas for the kids to run and play and a "game garage" complete with bikes of all sizes (bring helmets), foosball, shuffleboard and a few other things. Water smelled a little funny (maybe just because we are city folk!) Water pressure and temperature were good. We drank bottled water. Meijer is just off the main expressway about 10 min down the road. There is a mom and pop corner store a two minute walk if you need pop, chips, etc. but I wouldn't do big shopping there. Bring your own fishing poles. There were canoes and kayaks to use and some provided sand toys, noodles and a few inflatables. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return!"

  • Modernization meets nature

"It was 11 of us, 6 were kids, and a pomeranian mix. We comfortably fitted in this cabin home with access to all three levels for an additional fee. The accommodations made us feel like we were at home (cook ware, washer/dryer, campfire accessories, etc). Every room had a flat screen TV, but one room didn't have cable cord attachment and the ones that did work had poor reception. The well water took some getting used to, the odor and taste (related to oral hygiene) was not pleasant - I recommend plenty of bottled waters for cooking and dental cleansing. Not having Wi-fi access affected most of us, but AT&T and verizon customers apparently were not affected. I'm sure with minor modifications this could be a 5-star stay, i.e. water filters, cable signaling, etc. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay."

  • Tranquil Spring Break

"Our family of 4 enjoyed staying here at the end of March. It is definitely a quiet season for the town, but the house was a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding areas. And nothing can beat the view of the lake first thing in the morning! Kathy made sure our stay was great, she provided us with lots of instructions as well as information on activities in the surrounding areas. The house also has everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. Overall it was a wonderful break from city life and we look forward to visiting and renting this property again!"

  • The property was beautiful and clean

"We enjoyed our stay and we would book it again. I would suggest a new mattress for the master bedroom and there was not enough hot water to fill the very large tub, but we rented the property in Dec and perhaps the hot water heater was turned down to conserve resources, which is understandable. However, the house was excellent! Other than those two minor adjustments, I would not change a thing; I only mentioned them, so the owner is informed. For repeat business, a good bed is important. Thank you!"
