  • Our Favorite Holland House So Far!!

"My extended family and my own have been visiting Holland every summer for many years. We have typically stayed on the South side of Macatawa but were looking for a slightly larger house this year. The Lilley Pad fit the bill perfectly for our July 4th getaway! With 4 different families, 10 adults and 2 kids, we had just the right amount of space and never felt crowded. We enjoyed the proximity to Tunnel Park and to Holland State Park, and downtown Holland was just a short drive away. After a day of beach and/or shopping, we were happy to return "home" for dinner and the fire pit. The 5 bedrooms were all wonderfully accomodating, and with 3 bathrooms no one was ever waiting. Having the garage to store our beach stuff was invaluable, as I have stayed at other properties where the garage is off-limits. The neighborhood was fantastic with many people out and about all week. My 10-year-old could not get enough air hockey, foozball and ping pong. Many, many great family memories were created during our week at the Lilley Pad and we look forward to a return visit in 2017! Thank you, Dan and Dorene!!"

  • Charming cottage across the street from Lake Macatawa

"This is a wonderfully kept 3 bedroom cottage in Holland. It is convenient to shopping, restaurants, and most important, Holland State Park. The kitchen is well stocked; however, the appliances could use updating. Wi-Fi is available, but we kept getting disconnected. Communication with owner was difficult, but we had a great weekend in spite of this. I would recommend this cottage."

  • Obertein family making memories

"Our entire family commented on what a great time we all had. Even the kids said they would give up their hockey weekends to do this again. That is huge! They never miss their hockey weekends. It was a beautiful weekend of 58 degrees which allowed everyone to get in the outdoors. The ponds were covered with ice but that didn't stop the kids from fishing. They had bites but no fish. But it sure was fun. To our amazement the garage was full of bikes for every size and age. This is something many of our family members do on a regular basis. Some peddled to the Saugatuck Park and walked out to Lake Michigan. Every night we had a fire in the large firepit. The adults played a game of dominos on the huge table that had room to seat all 8 of us that played. We could only get half the jets to work on the hottub but that didn't stop us from sitting in the tub and sharing family stories. My husband who has stage IV cancer and has a hard time getting around immediately walked the trail on the property and checked out the ponds while everyone unpacked. He has always been an avid outdoors person and this meant so much to him to be able to get outside and enjoy nature one more time. The basement was a kids haven with the bunk bedrooms. They giggled late into the night. A suggestion of nightlights in the bathrooms for us old people...lol!!! We are curious as to when we will receive our deposit back? I have already had friends ask about this rental for a family get together in July. We have posted all our photos on our Facebook page we have for my husband so everyone can be kept up on his health status. We have many times had a family get together in vacation rentals such as this. This is the first time there has been no journal available for everyone to record their memories in during their stay. The kids always enjoy adding their favorite thing during our stays. We always spend some time reading what others have written and what they did during their stay. Especially if we don't know the area. It gives us ideas what to do in the area. So just a suggestion. We had such a great time together here."
