  • Wonderful Home, Wonderful Location

"We rented Yia Yia's out for a long weekend to celebrate a special Birthday. The cottage truly felt like home immediately and was exactly as advertised. The location was ideal - we could see the lighthouse from the property and it was a very short walk to the beach and into the town. The bedrooms were spacious, there was enough room for 8 adults to sleep comfortably. The house was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for the long weekend. We had brought some of our own kitchen utensils but could have done without in the end. There were lots of blankets, sheets, and pillows all over the house to make the stay comfortable. The property manager was helpful and responded quickly to any questions! Overall a great experience, we can't wait to return to Yia Yia's in the summer."

  • Wonderful Vacation Home with Lake Michigan access!

"Our extended family just returned from a week at this amazing cottage. We have selected different "cottages" over the past 4 summers on Lake Michigan and this was by far the nicest as far as living space goes! We had grand parents and two adult children with their children and the cottage accommodated all families perfectly. The home had everything one needs except the food to begin the vacation! We did not really need to bring anything extra at all! Everything was in great condition and high class. Furniture, beds, bedding and linens were comfortable and plentiful. The kitchen had anything you could possible need! Plenty of eating and cooking space! There are three decks to view the lake from and to eat and play cards. The third story deck off the master bedroom was perfect for viewing the wonderful Lake Michigan sunsets! The home was perfect for us! The beach was beautiful. It is a little hike from home to beach and through sandy train and down some steps ( 3-4 minute walk). Lake Michigan beaches fluctuate daily so one never knows how much beach front there will be but the access had an area cut out that was enough for everyone and far enough from the water to enjoy. Beach is clean, water is shallow enough but gets deeper so good for everyone. Clean, refreshing water! Bikes, beach chairs, rafts etc were all available. Grand Haven is a great little beach town and we enjoyed the Pronto Pups, State Park, Playground at the Y, and shopping. If our lives permit, we would like to return to this amazing cottage. Bob and Heidi were wonderful and all questions etc were answered promptly. Our first VRBO experience was a 10! Thank you for a wonderful family week! The Smiths ( really)"

  • Family Vacation

"This was our first official family vacation for our family of 4 (two small boys aged 3 & 5). My oldest suffers from multiple severe food allergies, so traveling away from home in SE MI and our kitchen has always been a scary thought. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The home was beautiful, spacious and clean. The numerous decks were a nice place to relax. The kitchen had all the amenities that one could ask for, however we only used it sparingly to warm up food brought from home for my son while we dined at the numerous restaurants in close proximity. One hidden gem we thoroughly enjoyed was the Arboreal Inn located in Spring Lake tucked away from the main Grand Haven restaurants (which were a short 10 min drive max). We enjoyed the beach several days of our stay which was a ridiculously short walk across the street. We loved the quiet, private beach over the packed, public beach. Having two small children also meant early bed times so we enjoyed being able to take a walk every evening on the beach to watch the incredible sunsets and get back home promptly for bed time. We also took a few day trips to neighboring areas where unfortunately we totaled our car barely 2 days into our trip. Thankfully no one was hurt and we were able to get a rental car and continue on with our trip. I have to think the beautiful setting and perfect location enabled us to continue to enjoy the remainder of our vacation. There was also a small issue with the modem going out during our stay causing the internet, tv and phone to go out. The owners took care of the issue that was beyond their control promptly and didn't cause us any problems. We are incredibly happy our first vacation was a success (other than the car accident) and plan to make this a repeated destination. We highly recommend Morning Star Cafe for breakfast and the submarine museum in Muskegon was a short 30 min drive and fun for small children."

  • Perfect location, great house and amenities!

"This is a great house! The property has its own boat launch and dock for multiple boats. Huge lot for volleyball and more family games. The house is perfect, sleeps multiple families. We loved the easy access to Grand Haven shops and restaurants and Muskegon shopping."
