  • Very clean apartment

"Very Clean! The grounds were beautiful with fun things to do like tetherball, a tennis court, and horseshoes. It was peaceful and full of bird song. All of the units have a view of the lake and in the summer I am sure that the lake would offer lots of fun. I only had a few small concerns. There were no hiking trails. The fireplace allowed some smoke into the apartment, so we did not use it. There wasn't a broom or vacuum to clean up spills. Lastly some of the linens had been washed with fabric softener. For some of us that can be an issue. For the price, this was a great place to stay."

  • Annual Family Time

"This was our 8th annual family trip to Camp Holiday. Each of our stays has been in the reunion cabin. The cabin fits our needs well, with four families there are 12-16 people that come and go during the week. We have enough bedrooms and beds so that each family has its own "Space" but we are able to be together for the fun. We find the cabin well stocked, the kitchen is fully supplied with almost everything you might need, has a large table in the dining area that is great for meals (if we're not eating outside) and provides a great place for games during the day or at night. There is a TV with a satellite connection which I must admit is seldom on when we are there. A second TV downstairs in the general area may be used a little more when the adults aren't there. There is always hot water, and we don't have to fight for the bathroom (it might be because of the 8 kids under12 7 are boys!) Having the large outdoor area just out the back door for a variety of outdoor games is a plus. When the kids were younger, having the play area there was even better. The kids do appreciate the wi fi (as do the adults) for their games. The beach area is small but the kids like the trampoline and the floating dock as well as swimming after the large contingent of ducks that occasionally swims through . The younger kids find great pleasure in the task of pulling in small sun fish from the dock closest to the cabin. There are many boats, paddle bikes and boards as well as pontoons available for rent and two lakes to explore. On Rainy days (unfortunately there are a few now and then) the game room (recently remodeled and rebuilt) is a favorite destination and we have found that the water park or movie theater in Baxter or Brainerd is only a short drive away. On the clear days, not much beats the sunsets over the lake as viewed from the dock or from the swing that overlooks the lake, unless its the almost nightly family time around a campfire with the loons calling in the backround. We have thoroughly enjoyed out visits to Camp Holiday and especially finding a vacation cabin that was and is big enough to accommodate all the family easily and give us the opportunity to spend time together in a relaxing atmosphere. The coming year will be our 9th."

  • Such a great place to stay!

"What a wonderful getaway! I have two young active boys and this was a great home to take them to. We explored in the yard, played games, had bonfires, made and ate delicious food, and took our boat out on the lake a few times to swim and sightsee. It was fantastic. The owners have obviously thought of everything because I forgot my toothbrush and there was a new one there to use! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need, the linen closet has plenty of towels and bedding, there are games upstairs and movies and a tv downstairs for when you need to chill out. There is a washer and dryer for laundry (actually 2), and plenty of space for family time, as well as naps. Everyone needs a nap on vacation! There is a resort within miles if you want to eat out, and Crosby, Garrison, and Deerwood aren't far either. It seemed like this house had the biggest lot and space on the lake- I'm trying to convince my whole family to go with us next time! Just writing this makes me want to go back. Don't pass this one by! Fun to stay for a weekend, but next time we'll make the reservation longer- it was hard to pack up and go home. Our only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer!"

  • Excellent Summer Choice!!

"We rented this cabin for a mini college reunion, and had a larger group of 13 adults stay for 3 nights in June. This place is nice and SPACIOUS; we never felt crowded! The master bedroom as room for an air mattress (if needed) and the sun room has 2 single beds plus extra room for an air mattress as well. Hannah really goes out of her way to make sure everything you would need is stocked. The kitchen was full of pots/pans/flatware, etc. There are lawn chairs, floating toys, kayaks, towels, a nice large yard, and excellent sunset views from the fire pit. The 2 refrigerators helped keep all our food and beer cold. Lower South Long Lake was fun to cruise on, and we caught Walleye, Pike, Bass, and Panfish. There were strong storms that came one afternoon, and we were limited to the confines of the cabin. Hannah had plenty of indoor accommodates as well. I will say that the Super Nintendo was a HUGE hit with our group... brought us back to our 90's childhoods. Assuming our group doesn't grow in size, we will definitely be coming back!"
