  • Family week at the lake!

"We spent the last week of August, 2016 at this property with our family! The home worked perfect for our daughter and her young children. We enjoyed the deck and grassy area up by the cabin and also spent a lot of time down by the lake and enjoyed the great beach and spacious yard by the water. There were 7 of us and we all felt like there was plenty of room! Great location on the lake with beautiful views. Access to Gull Lake was awesome as we pontooned (rented) daily around the many lakes. Karen is a great hostess....she was able to quickly remedy a few minor issues and was very attentive and prompt!"

  • Nice place for a big group

"The house was great - nice and big. We were a group of 12 women in our 30's, meeting for a reunion over Labor Day. Everybody has moved across the country by now, so we decided to meet for a weekend up north. There was plenty of room in the kitchen area for everybody to hang out and socialize while we made food together. The place is also pretty close to lots to do - within 20 minutes of a variety of choices (breweries, riding stable, town). It was a cooler weekend, so we didn't all go swimming, but note that it's weedy close to the dock (just as you'd expect though, most MN lakes have conservation ordinances preventing people from making beaches). It was nice though - the water was refreshing. Plus, we didn't run out of hot water even though we had that many women! I suppose the one knock I've got about it is the rental process. Sherry is very sweet, and helpful with lots of ideas to do around town or on the lake, but there were clearly some trust issues there. She just kept asking what we were going to be doing the whole time, and insisted on coming by to check us in even after I told her once we got there that it was a straightforward place, it looked great, no questions. She ended up coming to the house on Saturday afternoon (well into our stay) and the check in process was her showing me the stuff that's already clearly written on the contract, check-in document, and notes around the house. It came across as nosy, and it was a disruption to our vacation, so I'm sour about that. I assume she just wants to make sure people are having fun, but she inserted herself too strongly into our private time. She asked why we were getting together, what we were celebrating, what we were planning on doing.. a bunch of times. I assume she wasn't satisfied by my answers. She kept asking, which is where that snoopy feeling came from. It was like she wanted every detail, like she was trying to approve our plans or something strange. To end on a good note though, we all had a great time. We stuck around the house for the most part, made our own food, and really got a chance to relax and have fun by the lake. The open format of the kitchen/dining/living area was really nice. One night we went over to Zorbaz, which is the perfect raucous townie bar/restaurant you could ask for. Food, lots of space, impressive selection of local and MN beer on tap. Overall we enjoyed ourselves on our stay!"

  • Professional & Easy!

"We had a great stay at the Peterson Cabin. This was first stab at VRBO for my wife and I so we naturally had a few questions. Steve was VERY timely in giving us the information we needed. The Cabin was fully furnished and had everything you could need - we love our coffee and there were multiple ways to make and drink coffee. The place was stocked with wood, towels, cleaning supplies, shampoo, etc. Though we did a lot of reading, We were even impressed with the entertainment options for the football games. Steve even throws in a surprise for you! The one item we were disappointed with was the internet provided and i'm guessing is out of Steve's control. in the age of streaming movies/shows, this really was not possible."

  • Great place to stay for all ages

"Our family researched many lake homes to stay for a week and I'm sure glad we found this home. We had 12 people aged 1 to 60 enjoy our stay here. Nicely updated house...everything we needed in the kitchen was there. Beautiful clear lake for water sports and fishing. Good space in the yard and adjacent open lot for games and relaxing outside. Lots of chairs available. One of the best features is being able to walk out the back door and have a flat 50 foot walk to the dock. The owners were great to work with and answered all of our questions prior to arrival. We would certainly stay here again."
