  • Great Vacation spot

"We arrived the Sunday before Labor day and stayed for 3 nights. It was very peaceful and relaxing even with a little bit of bad weather. Our dogs were able to come with and enjoy some time away from the city with us. The cabin was in great shape with every amenity we needed available to us. Cooking supplies, bedding, towels, firewood, blankets, boat, life jackets. It was all there and we felt very at home. We drove to Nisswa one day and did some shopping. Otherwise we sat around the cabin and read, had fires, cooked, went fishing, and enjoyed nature. Most importantly, the Herzog's were great. They were easy to deal with and prompt in replying to emails. We're very thankful they let us use their cabin."

  • Gorgeous spot for summer reunion

"Our family had a great time on our second trip back to Deeside. The private beach is pretty amazing. Great volleyball games, perfect water for the kids, room enough on the dock to party a bit and be on the water. The kids loved the game room. Lots to do. Beautiful setting and very private."

  • Small Older Cabin but makes up for it with location and extras

"My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The cabin is located among a few other cabins, this is the smallest cabin. The Good: The location! It's nice to find a place so close to lake access. The owner provided kayaks, paddle boat and row boats, which is a big plus. There are multiple docks to fish off from. There is a small gradual beach perfect for kids (not to many weeds for the first 10 feet or so). The owners of the resort are nice people and fun to chat with. The cabin was supplied with most things a kitchen needs, silverware, dishes, pots, pans, mugs, glassware, coffeemaker, microwave, etc. The Cabin: The cabin is older, built in the 40's but updated at some point. Everything works fine; hot water, water pressure is good, plenty of lighting, and window AC. There is a TV and wifi too. The inside isn't anything exciting but it has the charm of an campground you might have gone to when a kid. The Cabin layout: The cabin has a living room\kitchen\dinning nook and separated bedroom. The bathroom is connected the bedroom, something you should consider: "Will it be OK with you for others in your party to walk through the bedroom at night or during the day?" Also the bathroom did not have a door, only a curtain, so there is a little concern with privacy and (ehmmm) noises from the bathroom. We managed OK because we had small children and we used the bedroom door for privacy, but not sure how I would feel using the bathroom with a friend sleeping in the room just beyond a curtain. (Like I said we managed because we were a family with small kids, but I just though others may want to know before things get awkward ) We liked our stay and plan to be back again this year."

  • Wow, Wow, Wow, what incredible lake views.

"We decided to try our first vrbo rental and it this home was everything we expected and more. The home had incredible decor. All the amenities, gorgeous hard wood floors, loved the custom hickory cabinets. The recently completed bunk house was just as pictured. The kids loved having their own space the bunk house was able to provide. We were able to bike to Nisswa and enjoy the trails nearby. The fishing on Hubert Lake was fantastic. We will definitely be staying here next year!"
