  • Was truly and excellent experience!

"This home exceeded our expectations by a long way. After renting small resort cabins a few times for almost the same price, This home was clean, well stocked, and beautiful. The owner was more than easy to work with, and I know that my wife and I will be returning to this home again. The furniture is comfortable, the bed, at least in the master, was beyond comfort expectations. The dock is great, and has a very good swimming area, and also had a nice yard space by the lake, including a fire pit. This was a great area for our dog to lay around while we were swimming in the lake. While I was there, the cable on the boat lift broke, and was fixed the next day. I can't say enough about how great it has been to work with the owner. Not to mention, that I caught more fish during this week than I have caught in a long time. Bass, walleye, Northern (34+ inch), crappies, and sunnies were all caught. All in all we had just a fabulous week."

  • Nice place for a big group

"The house was great - nice and big. We were a group of 12 women in our 30's, meeting for a reunion over Labor Day. Everybody has moved across the country by now, so we decided to meet for a weekend up north. There was plenty of room in the kitchen area for everybody to hang out and socialize while we made food together. The place is also pretty close to lots to do - within 20 minutes of a variety of choices (breweries, riding stable, town). It was a cooler weekend, so we didn't all go swimming, but note that it's weedy close to the dock (just as you'd expect though, most MN lakes have conservation ordinances preventing people from making beaches). It was nice though - the water was refreshing. Plus, we didn't run out of hot water even though we had that many women! I suppose the one knock I've got about it is the rental process. Sherry is very sweet, and helpful with lots of ideas to do around town or on the lake, but there were clearly some trust issues there. She just kept asking what we were going to be doing the whole time, and insisted on coming by to check us in even after I told her once we got there that it was a straightforward place, it looked great, no questions. She ended up coming to the house on Saturday afternoon (well into our stay) and the check in process was her showing me the stuff that's already clearly written on the contract, check-in document, and notes around the house. It came across as nosy, and it was a disruption to our vacation, so I'm sour about that. I assume she just wants to make sure people are having fun, but she inserted herself too strongly into our private time. She asked why we were getting together, what we were celebrating, what we were planning on doing.. a bunch of times. I assume she wasn't satisfied by my answers. She kept asking, which is where that snoopy feeling came from. It was like she wanted every detail, like she was trying to approve our plans or something strange. To end on a good note though, we all had a great time. We stuck around the house for the most part, made our own food, and really got a chance to relax and have fun by the lake. The open format of the kitchen/dining/living area was really nice. One night we went over to Zorbaz, which is the perfect raucous townie bar/restaurant you could ask for. Food, lots of space, impressive selection of local and MN beer on tap. Overall we enjoyed ourselves on our stay!"

  • Spacious Family Retreat!

"Round Lake is a perfect lake for all ages when gathering a large family! There is plenty to do and enjoy at this location! The house is spacious and has plenty of options for individual needs! A large kitchen to prepare and serve food as well as a big island to play Tenzi! A sandy beach to build sand castles! There are plenty of swim toys, life jackets, and a slide and raft to venture on. The lake can be enjoyed for fishing or jet skiing. An enormous camp fire pit to enjoy. And if it does rain, there are indoor options of the incredible movie selection for all ages and genres. It is a beautiful place to make new memories. The local grocery store served our needs for our last minute items. The golf options were numerous for those interested. Our family enjoyed our week despite the record rainfall of 9+ inches. We discovered Tenzi, determination of puzzle completion, and had incredible moments in the grand open living room. Nisswa is close, so visiting the Chocolate Ox 4x was a treat for us and the kids. This place can be a spot for multiple occasions and gatherings. Thank you Kurt and Tami for a wonderful week."

  • Perfect lake vacation

"Our family of 12 stayed and had a great time. Home was well equipped and lake was beautiful. Location was great and covenient to anything you would need. Owner was very helpful and easy to work with. We rented the pontoon which was very nice and could fit everyone. Lake was good for fishing and also tubing/skiing. It has a nice flat yard with easy entry to lake. Nice sandy bottom of the dock. Want to go back and stay longer next time."
