  • Beautiful property!

"We really enjoyed staying here - very clean and nicely decorated! The property is right on the lake, with a fire pit located closely by. We especially enjoyed the screened-in patio - perfect for morning coffee spent watching the birds on the lake. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, Dorothy. We would definitely stay here again!"

  • Exceptional property!

"Our family stayed for a week. The accommodations were exceptional. The beds were very comfortable and we found we had every thing we needed, plenty of room. I was surprised how large the lot was. We enjoyed bonfires, watching the sunsets and playing bocce ball. The kids caught so many fish off the dock at dusk. My husband was impressed with the variety of fish and lake itself. My favorite were dinners on the deck and swimming. There were few weeds a sand bottom and clear water. It was quiet during the week. Nobody was on the lake just us. The views in this cabin are spectacular and the loons were always around. Can't wait to return. It's an absolute gem very peaceful. The boat lift worked fine for us when it rained."

  • Labor Day Weekend Get-away

"We had a beautiful Labor Day weekend stay at this wonderful vacation home. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced for a family gathering with children. There is a huge yard to set up bean bags, horseshoes or whatever and beautiful lawn to set up tents and a camper or two. The area is very spacious and the neighbors are quite far away so you do not feel like you need to be quiet as to not disturb them, even though they seemed quite friendly with a wave as they drove by. Unfortunately, it was very windy so we were unable to use our boat, but the kids enjoyed fishing off the dock. Also just a couple miles down the road, on the calmer side of the lake, there is a city campground with public access for the boat and also a public beach which was much calmer. Overall it was a very nice stay and will do again if it works out for us. We did have one concern though which I addressed to the Owner and they appreciated the feedback and said it was on the agenda for repair. Nice to hear."

  • Nice place for a big group

"The house was great - nice and big. We were a group of 12 women in our 30's, meeting for a reunion over Labor Day. Everybody has moved across the country by now, so we decided to meet for a weekend up north. There was plenty of room in the kitchen area for everybody to hang out and socialize while we made food together. The place is also pretty close to lots to do - within 20 minutes of a variety of choices (breweries, riding stable, town). It was a cooler weekend, so we didn't all go swimming, but note that it's weedy close to the dock (just as you'd expect though, most MN lakes have conservation ordinances preventing people from making beaches). It was nice though - the water was refreshing. Plus, we didn't run out of hot water even though we had that many women! I suppose the one knock I've got about it is the rental process. Sherry is very sweet, and helpful with lots of ideas to do around town or on the lake, but there were clearly some trust issues there. She just kept asking what we were going to be doing the whole time, and insisted on coming by to check us in even after I told her once we got there that it was a straightforward place, it looked great, no questions. She ended up coming to the house on Saturday afternoon (well into our stay) and the check in process was her showing me the stuff that's already clearly written on the contract, check-in document, and notes around the house. It came across as nosy, and it was a disruption to our vacation, so I'm sour about that. I assume she just wants to make sure people are having fun, but she inserted herself too strongly into our private time. She asked why we were getting together, what we were celebrating, what we were planning on doing.. a bunch of times. I assume she wasn't satisfied by my answers. She kept asking, which is where that snoopy feeling came from. It was like she wanted every detail, like she was trying to approve our plans or something strange. To end on a good note though, we all had a great time. We stuck around the house for the most part, made our own food, and really got a chance to relax and have fun by the lake. The open format of the kitchen/dining/living area was really nice. One night we went over to Zorbaz, which is the perfect raucous townie bar/restaurant you could ask for. Food, lots of space, impressive selection of local and MN beer on tap. Overall we enjoyed ourselves on our stay!"
