  • They really hit the ball out of the park on this new property !

"When searching the VRBO offerings last winter, I noticed that NEW town homes were replacing the OLD cabins on my favorite part of the lake. We were the first people in line, and I must say - the new place did not disappoint. I don't even know where to start on how WONDERFUL this property is. We rented the Selby - it has four bedrooms and one of the bedrooms even has a second queen bed. Add two pull out couches and there are a lot of sleeping options. We were only a group of four, but there was soooo much extra space for guests that didn't make it home, and we could have accommodated many more. Location - it's on the best part of Lake Carlos in the South Bay. We sat on the beach and watched the 4th of July boat parade. No need to get in the boat for fireworks either - they were right outside our back door. The large, sandy beach will keep kids and adults busy all day. Each unit has a private patio and it's own dock. There is a huge yard for everyone to enjoy out towards the lake side. On the other side of the town homes you will find a putting green, more yard space, a fire pit for s'mores, and the coolest game room with ping-pong, pool table, kitchen, bath. We all enjoyed the game room after a long day on the beach. We enjoyed meeting the other renters, but hardly saw any of them as people who rent in an upscale place such as this usually keep pretty busy with their own stuff. The access to the main road for runs into town for food and refreshments is convenient, but not so close that there is any noise. Nights are quiet and dark. We decided to sell our boat and Sea Doo last year and just kind of winged it for lake rentals. It depends on the time of year, but rentals can be hard to find during peak times. We had a pontoon from Lake Carlos Marina for a couple of days, and were also lucky enough to snag a ski boat from Arrowwood Resort for a day as well (even though we were not staying there). The lake has a nice slope to it out behind the property. We skied right off the dock no problem. If you bring your own watercraft you will be happy. Notes for renters: A/C can be tricky in MN - we closed all but two downstairs vents (they are in the ceiling - twist them counterclockwise to close). With upstairs vents open and the system in ON (not AUTO) the temp was just right. If you need anything - ask, they will happily provide. 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday for checkout is a little early - would like to see that be 10 or 11."

  • Great vacation home!

"This was our second year to enjoy this beautiful home. Unfortunately, this year we had a storm and some cooler, wet weather, but we still had plenty to do in the area and enjoyed some family time together. Great space for young and old together with open floor plan to enjoy games, movies, and stories. We used the breakfast counter or outside deck for meals mainly - there was room for the seven of us easily. We visited a neighboring town for an annual celebration, went to Walker for shopping and a visit to a spa, and enjoyed golfing and eating out in the surrounding area. It was great to enjoy the week together and we finally were able to enjoy some "water" time the last days. Would recommend for anyone looking for a wonderful place to spend some time enjoying the lake, area, and time together. All ages would enjoy."

  • Quiet, comfortable setting with an amazing view of the legendary Ten Mile sunset!

"First of all I should mention that I've spent 40 summers at Ten Mile Lake along with my family. That being said I may be biased when it comes to the crystal clear waters of The Mile, however it was a new experience for me to stay at a rental property. Indisputably one of the most beautiful lakes in the state you won't be disappointed with all Ten Mile Lake has to offer. The property was clean & well maintained from the outside. There is a fire pit, and there are a few lawn chairs, a picnic table and small bistro set. Inside was neat & tidy awaiting our arrival. Plenty of large windows & ceiling fans. Both cabins had sliding glass doors in the front for a great view of the lake. The dock is a bit small but it served our purposes just fine i.e. fishing, swimming & tying up the boat. It's a small swimming area and the more it got used we had a nice sandy bottom, not rocky. We did not feel the need for water shoes. We spent the majority of our time on the lake swimming and fishing. We rode four wheelers as there are many trails for Atv's! Northern lights casino is a mere 5 minutes away and Walker MN is less than 15 min away. Can't beat the location and the family is planning our next vacation to Ten Mile!"

  • Beautiful and comfortable setting enjoyed by all my family!

"Our family really enjoyed the comforts and many amenities of this beautiful lake home. The home is tastefully decorated so you get the feel of being immersed in the beauty of nature. The grassy area down by the lake provided a great place to play yard games and enjoy an evening fire in the fire pit. A number of water toys were provided which added to our enjoyment. We definitely hope to make this a yearly destination."
