  • Top-of-the-line vacation house

"Having stayed at old lake resorts over the past 20 years, we wanted to "upgrade" to a better experience this year. Boy are we glad we did! We thought we might not like having 4 families in the same house, but we liked it better than separate cabins. We thought the design of the house was well thought out got large groups. The ladies of course went right to the kitchen and drooled over the modern conveniences such as the large fridge, gas range, large buffet serving area, large counter space, dish washer and ample room for many people to prepare the food. The men were immediately impressed with the taxidermy on the wall, the HUGE extra fridge downstairs and the "million-dollar view." We had 14 adults and 5 children and never felt cramped. We were pleasantly surprised that the TV room had a door on it, so it made another private bedroom for an adult couple. During the day, we had a fun time in the beach area and on the lake. The dock was large enough for 2 boats and the owner's pontoon boat. Almost every night we built fires in the very nice fire pit. They even provided chairs around the fire pit. Since the house was away from any city, we were able to see a million stars and even a few shooting stars while sitting on the dock. Another highlight was the Wednesday afternoon Turtle Races in Longville. In addition to turtle races, they had many fun carnival type games for the kids. I was marveling at the small town hospitality I was experiencing. Coming from a large city, I had never experienced anything like that. Doug and Felicia texted us every so often to make sure all our questions were answered and our stay was comfortable. Final tip: If you need a Sunday Bruch spot, we recommend Chase on the Lake in Walker (about 45 minutes away). We chose to pre-order from a catered menu that was served in a private room (the room was free since we purchased their catered food). However, next time we will choose the general Sunday Bruch that goes until 1PM. The restaurant was not too noisy or busy, so the main seating area would have been fine for us."

  • Sweet Hidden Gem!!

"We had the joy of staying in this amazing place in Walker, as we were heading up to Red Lake to do some ice fishing the next day. The owner Jay, is a true pleasure to work with and so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He is willing to assist you with whatever your needs might be! As for this home, It's everything the pictures show it to be and more which was so much fun for my parents to stay in as it brought back lots of memories from all the fishing and hunting pictures to the old lures and even an old boat & motor downstairs. The house is so well decorated and furnished you will think of it as your home away from home! It was nice to be just 1 of the few houses even on the lake which we did try some ice fishing and lucked out catching a northern. It was a great place to land and would for sure recommend it for anybody looking for a great getaway! We will for sure be back again~ Keep up the good work Jay!"

  • Little piece of heaven !

"Mantrap is our favorite lake to fish for pike and musky. We have fished it for 14 years and have always stayed at resorts due to our young children needing amenities including a pool. Now that they have grown up, we decided to rent a cabin and what a cabin it was. Not only were we steps from our dock, we had everything we could ask for including a secluded bay full of fish, a choir of loons serenading us throughout the day, and access to everything we could ever want or need. Our needs were met in every way. My favorite time was walking out on the dock in early morning with a cup of coffee and listening to the songs of the loons. It was so touching watching them teach their babies. The owners could not be nicer nor more accomodating. I hope we can return for another 14 years and then some."

  • Fabulous, peaceful getaway on the lake

"We booked Wildwood to celebrate a decade birthday for my now fiancé (he proposed while we were there on the water). Wildwood is the most tastefully decorated, comfortable, peaceful VRBO rental we have reserved to date. We loved parking our car and taking off in any direction on the nice, paved bike paths. Food in this area surprised us in it's high quality. Everyone we met was so friendly. The loons calling morning and night was so wonderful to hear. The owners were such a pleasure to meet and we plan to be back the same time next year. We will tell everyone about Wildwood!!"
