Vacation rentals near Taconic State Trail

This place was fantastic! Cozy with a ton of cabin charm--it felt like home the minute we walked in. There's a nice blend of outdoor and throwback furnishings with some modern updates that make the home an amazing place to spend time with family and just relax at the lake. We brought our own kayaks, but our teen utilized one of the ones on property as well to try out something different. The large porch has a great view and was a nice place to have an outdoor dinner. The giant firepit overlooking the lake was a fantastic feature. The cabin overlooks a quiet bay area where we could fish from the dock or swim when the winds picked up and we didn't want to paddle in a bigger section of the lake. This was the most relaxing vacation spot we've been to in a long time, but enough amenities with the lake that there was no shortage of fun to be had. It's a close drive to Babbitt and Ely as well, so easy to get out of the woods for a bit if you want to grab dinner or go shopping.

The camper was nice and comfortable. The Island had a good breeze, so the mosquitos were almost non-existent, and the trees are tall and plentiful for shade and a good resting place for a bald eagle one morning we were there. We rented the owners fishing boat and it was very nice for checking out the the different islands and bays. Owner was very accommodating for making sure we had everything we needed and supplied multiple containers of gas and even ice in his own coolers, so we didn't have to worry about running out. We are used to tent camping so this was much more comfortable. The grills and coleman stove worked well too. There was a dock that the boat was parked on and fishing was supposed to be good off the end of it, but it was quite windy for our stay. The island is probably 10 feet higher than the water, so the stairs are a bit steep, but not too much for us 60 year olds.The peace and quiet and the fire pit location are great. One side of island you can see the sun rise and the other side you see the sunset. very beautiful.

Property was exactly as advertised, cute and cozy! Close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Will definitely come back in the summer!

This is our 2nd stay at this property. We really like it! This time my daughter brought a friend with her, and they had a great time. We had many good meals, and the kitchen is well supplied with most any equipment one might need. We will stay again soon!

The cabin is situated with no other cabins in view. Beautifully decorated Minnesota Cabin thats extremely functional. The boat was perfect for this lake even with high winds you can easily get around. The wildlife on the island made the trip. We cant wait to come back.

An amazing place, and an even better host. The location is right on the lake. We rode our sleds right from the driveway onto the trails. The space is warm, inviting, and comfortable. The hospitality offered by your hosts make it even better. Can’t wait to go back again!!
