  • Comfortable, cozy and convenient sanctuary!

"My husband and I recently spent 5 weeks here while he was undergoing treatment for an aggressive cancer. We couldn't have been more comfortable here. The house is very new and absolutely spotless. There are plenty of towels and sheets and cozy blankets. The living room furniture is the best. So soft and everything reclines. The gas fireplace was so nice to have during the winter. We were very close to grocery stores and restaurants as well as a bookstore and clothing stores. Also we were 10-12 min from Mayo, which was important. Our girls came to visit for a weekend and they loved the house. We spent some lovely times cooking together in the convenient and well stocked kitchen. Did I mention the pantry? Oh my! It's huge and amazing! I really can't say enough good things about our stay. Jim and Cyrila were so easy to work with and Ramie who is the contact person in Rochester was available and responsive for questions. You will love this home!!"

  • Wonderful cabiIn with all the comforts of home!! We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

"We stopped at 2 MN State parks (Fort Ridgely and Flandrau) on the drive to the cabin. Kids were very excited to get there and found the Xbox in the loft right away. We visited 5 additional State parks (Kilen Woods, Lake Shetek, Blue Mounds, Split Rock Creek and Camden) during our stay and also stopped at the Pipestone National monument. It was so nice to come "home" to the cabin after a busy day hiking. Being able to bring our furry family member was a huge plus, as was being able to wash a load or 2 of clothes. The owners were great and so helpful, responding to any questions we had very quickly! They even left little Easter treats for our kids (and us) for when we arrived. Just a wonderful place to spend time as a family. We also spent time playing games and watching movies etc. The beds were very comfortable and plush towels for showering. Lots of birds around the cabin, including a turkey. We saw about 30 pelicans on the lake down by the DNR fishing dock. Just an overall great place to stay!"

  • This house is exceptional!

"Doug & Kim offer a lovely house which is immaculate, comfortable, full of natural light, well stocked with all the necessities for living & cooking and convenient to Mayo, which was our reason for visiting Rochester. The layout was perfect for us, as it has a downstairs “suite” with bedroom, full bath, office and TV room - just what the young man in our family needed after his long days at the clinic. The primary living space is open concept. The bedrooms on the second floor have a full bath. The park across the street was an added bonus for walking and decompressing in the evenings. There was a convenient grocery store nearby, accessed by a quick walk through the park or a short drive around the park. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. We didn’t need anything from Doug and Kim during our stay, but they were most welcoming and obviously willing to address anything that might have arisen. This has been our best experience yet with VRBO!"

  • Great Place for Team Building

"We brought our girls track team and had a wonderful time playing games and cooking / eating together. The girls had the upstairs bedrooms and bathroom as their "dormitory" and the coaches had the downstairs bedroom and bathroom. It worked perfectly. Great hills to run and park to workout in. We took the hike to Maiden Rock. Beautiful view of the water and many eagles We needed butter and the pie shop owner was more than happy to sell us some from his stock and Colleen, the owner/baker at Bogus Creek Café and Bakery, was so accommodating to make sandwiches and a bag lunch for our team. Such kind and helpful people. We truly felt like they were glad we were here! Great place to stay!"
