"We were very happy with this rental. The location was perfect and Serpant lake was beautiful and easily accessible. The house is located closely to Cuyuna state park with top notch mountain biking. We will definitely return to this rental next year."

  • Charming Urban Cabin

"Joel and Amy have created an oasis of peace, comfort and tranquility with their Storefront apartment in downtown Grand Marais. I wanted a place that would be comfortable for my husband and me, our college-age kids and our 5 month old puppy; a place to chill in the big woods with the comforts of home and I got it all! The location is perfect; walk to everything...dining, shopping, drinking, ice cream all without sacrificing a fabulous view. Hiking, kayaking and skiing aren't far and at the end of the day, I got the best massage just a block from The Storefront. This apartment is perfectly appointed with something for everyone...full kitchen, washer & dryer, endless hot water, eclectic library, apple TV, wifi and and a dynamite vinyl collection. The perfect respite...beautiful memories...we'll be back. Thank you Joel and Amy."

  • Good location.

"This is an older well maintained rental home in an established area. It has a basement, one mini van sized garage and two stories. The bathroom and the three bedrooms are upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook. No internet at this time. The neighborhood is quiet. We drove a long way primarily because I wanted to see the northern end of I-35. I also wanted to see a real winter. We are from a small town south of Dallas, Texas. There were more expensive places to stay but I believe if we had gone there we would have missed out on the most important factor: The host and hostess are extremely helpful in guiding tourists to the many attractions in the area. We were amazed by their sincerity in wanting us to have a memorable vacation. We didn't know where to go or what exactly to do once we arrived in Duluth. They asked what are interests were and it went very well from there. We saw things we had never seen before, did things we had never done before and at the end of the day after our adventures, we returned exhausted to a house which felt like home and rested peacefully in a quiet neighborhood away from the party scene. We've stayed in rental houses/cabins in Florida, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Mexico and Canada (in the summer). We've had fun and adventures in each location but this one of the best times we've ever had. We'd go again in a minute up there and if we did we would stay at the same place. For anyone reading this review who is a tourist coming from far away, remember the strong point is the sincere helpfulness of the host and hostess. They actively participate in outdoor activities, are quite knowledgeable and can direct you if you truly wish to enjoy all that Duluth has to offer. We recommend this place. Lou, Val and Colman."
