  • Great Place to Stay

"Loved the location! Just inside the no-wake zone in an arm of the lake, but near enough to see the main channel. Used the lowest martini deck a lot to hang out and watch the lake, as well as get in the water and cool off. Loved seeing the wildlife (had more than one visit from a Mallard couple). We also used the uppermost deck to eat breakfast one morning, instead of trying to find another restaurant, while being squawked and twittered at by birds in the trees all around us (which I loved). The villa was plenty spacious for four adults, with yet another bedroom that could have been used. Three bathrooms was plenty. Loved the full kitchen, which we used to make our own breakfast. The brown pelican carving in front was pretty nice. I can't give the rental 5 stars for a couple of reasons. Reason #1 is that, although the place was very clean, the windows hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Very disappointed, considering the floor-to-ceiling windows were a draw to this villa. Just the windows--everything else seemed perfectly clean. A very minor point--all pictures here seem to be for another villa similar to ours, but not our exact one. Not a big deal, but a tad misleading. For instance, no BBQ grill on the deck...I'm assuming they are all pics of the neighboring villa, which we could see from the parking area, and through the trees. Another minor point, and something not within the owner's control, is that the lake level seemed to be low, so using the ladder to get into the lake was a necessity. No jumping in! All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much--just wish the windows had been cleaner!"

  • Family Friendly Vacation at the Lake

"Jenny was very welcoming and showed us the property. The house was clean. We brought our own pantry items and groceries filling the refrigerator for the weekend. We really enjoyed the location of the house - private, yet close walking distance to activities. Swimming and renting paddle boards in the swimming area was a hit. We also rented 2 jet skis for a few hours at Pirates Point. My children's favorite part was touring the Bridal Cave and exploring Ha Ha Tonka State Park, both are within a short driving distance. The deck was a perfect place to sit back in the shade and relax looking out at the lake."

  • Quiet Little Cabin on the Lake

"The listing description was accurate. The property was clean and well-maintained. Karen and Bill provided good customer service and were friendly. This is a very small resort somewhat off the beaten path yet close to everything you want to do and just a short drive to Bagnell Dam. Our cabin included 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen-living room area. The accommodation had a true cabin feel due to the retro style furniture, paneling and wall art. Fresh linens were on the beds, although the fitted sheet had lots of lint balls. However, I sleep like a rock and my boyfriend wears pajamas so the sheets were not an issue for us but might be for others. The bed was big and comfortable. The pillows were not thick but we were fine using the pillows from all 3 beds. The fact that we could bring our dogs and smoke inside the cabin were huge pluses. The cabin was clean except for some bugs in a couple corners and behind the kitchen sink faucet, which was of no concern considering the surrounding woodsy area. We were provided a minimal yet sufficient amount of plastic dishes, silverware and pots and pans. If the max number of guests stayed, the dishes and silverware would not have been enough, although maybe more would have been provided. There were 2 rolls of toilet paper, a small amount of dish soap, a dish cloth, and 2 trash bags. The air conditioners worked great. The pool is located directly across from the cabins and reachable in just a short walk. It was large and the water was sparkling clean. There was a pavilion next to the pool with chairs, tables, and a soda machine. Very nice. There were also horseshoe pits, a swing set, and sand volleyball. The boat ramp to the lake was also directly across from the cabins. There were 2 quaint bridges crossing a gently running creek leading to walking paths in the woods. Lots of great places to walk the dogs! This resort was quiet and private, which we loved. The cabin included a microwave, refrigerator, stove/oven, coffee pot and toaster. The shower was a large walk in. Water pressure was not great but hot water was abundant. This place is casual, which was right up our alley. The cabin had rock walls outside and indoors, which were visually pleasing. We plan to stay here next time we visit the lake and will recommend it to our family and friends. It's not a 5 star hotel and the cabin was not perfect, but it was JUST RIGHT for us and we LOVED IT! Can't wait to come back!"
