  • Amazing log cabin on beautiful Spoon Lake

"The description and pictures of this cabin on Spoon Lake seemed too good to be true, but as soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a great week. The custom log cabin (which is more like a small lodge) is very comfortable and furnished with an assortment of rustic furniture and decorations. It easily accommodated our family of 6 adults and 2 young children. There is a wonderful view of the lake from the front porch, and the tall trees surrounding the cabin made us feel like we had the whole lake to ourselves. The lake water is crystal clear and we saw and heard a pair of loons every day. There was also a large family of ducks that showed up next to the dock as soon as they saw us. We saw, but could not catch, several largemouth bass, and our grandsons had a ball catching small perch while fishing from the dock. We used the canoe several times each day for fishing, or just to explore the shoreline. We had the good fortune of being here during a week of warm weather and went swimming off the dock every afternoon. The lake bottom is soft, so a swim tube or inflatable raft are recommended. Even though the setting made us feel like we were in the wilderness, Columbia Falls and Whitefish are both full service communities a short drive away. Glacier National Park is close by and easy to find, although we learned that in July you have to get there very early in the day to find any parking at popular stops along the Going to the Sun Road. Owners Jackie and Gib Black are great hosts and did everything possible to prepare us for our stay and answer our questions promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at their "home" on Spoon Lake."

  • Great vacation stay!

"Great place for multi-generational group, and it had everything we needed. The kitchen was great for preparing meals, the yard/outdoor seating was perfect for relaxing or meals outside. The only "bad" thing was the futon bedroom didn't have a door; I missed that in the online description, but it was curtained off from the main room and worked just fine! Heidi met us when we checked in and described everything well. She was nearby if we ever needed anything, but we never did."

  • Such a Wonderful home!

"My family and I (wife and three children) drove over 1800 miles from the Midwest to visit Glacier National Park. I stumbled upon Brenda's home online, and we are SO GLAD we stayed at her home! With only 5 of us, there was plenty of extra room in this house, which was great. All amenities are provided (towels, linens, etc.) and truly, it just felt like home. The home is a short 20-25 minute drive from West Glacier, which we drove every day we were there. After hiking all morning and afternoon, we soaked in the hot tub for quite a while. Brenda and her husband could not have been nicer or more helpful. We would easily stay here again!"

  • Perfect home base to visit Glacier!

"We absolutely loved the cabin! We were welcomed with treats for hiking and everything you would need for a five night stay. We loved having all the essentials including the bear spray! We have stayed a lot of places, and it is really great to not have to worry about paper products, foils, detergent and toilet paper!. The grill worked perfectly and the kitchen was well stocked. We stayed with 6 people- two couples and two teenagers. The teenagers had the pull out beds, that were okay for them- I don't think an adult would find it comfortable. The location was perfect! The kids could walk to West Glacier while we had wine on the porch. You will not be disappointed with this cabin, thanks for great memories!"
