  • Amazing log cabin on beautiful Spoon Lake

"The description and pictures of this cabin on Spoon Lake seemed too good to be true, but as soon as we arrived we knew we were in for a great week. The custom log cabin (which is more like a small lodge) is very comfortable and furnished with an assortment of rustic furniture and decorations. It easily accommodated our family of 6 adults and 2 young children. There is a wonderful view of the lake from the front porch, and the tall trees surrounding the cabin made us feel like we had the whole lake to ourselves. The lake water is crystal clear and we saw and heard a pair of loons every day. There was also a large family of ducks that showed up next to the dock as soon as they saw us. We saw, but could not catch, several largemouth bass, and our grandsons had a ball catching small perch while fishing from the dock. We used the canoe several times each day for fishing, or just to explore the shoreline. We had the good fortune of being here during a week of warm weather and went swimming off the dock every afternoon. The lake bottom is soft, so a swim tube or inflatable raft are recommended. Even though the setting made us feel like we were in the wilderness, Columbia Falls and Whitefish are both full service communities a short drive away. Glacier National Park is close by and easy to find, although we learned that in July you have to get there very early in the day to find any parking at popular stops along the Going to the Sun Road. Owners Jackie and Gib Black are great hosts and did everything possible to prepare us for our stay and answer our questions promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at their "home" on Spoon Lake."

  • Nice

"It was nice and had a beautiful view of the mountains. The owner was very friendly. It's about 15 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier National Park, but only 5 minutes from stores and restaurants in Columbia Falls, so overall it was a very convenient place to be."

  • Convenient property to Glacier Natl Park situated on a beautiful golf course.

"My husband and I just spent five wonderful days in this well designed duplex. It has a lovely view of the golf course and is conveniently located between Glacier Natl Park and Whitefish. Loved our time there and would definitely rent it again. It would be perfect for two couples. Did didn't need a thing. Judy, San Antonio, Tx"

  • Wonderful!

"We really enjoyed staying in this log cabin. The cabin was clean and very well stocked. Everything was comfortable and cozy. Frank is a great host and made great suggestions for restaurants. He hikes in Glacier and made suggestions about the Park and area. We appreciated the maps, books, and brochures at the cabin. We enjoyed seeing the deer come out of the woods in the evening. His dogs and horses were enjoyable and fun to watch. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back in the future! Thanks for sharing the cabin!"
