  • Amazing views at this unique property

"We enjoyed returning to this place each day after exploring Glacier National Park. It was about a 20 min. drive to the West entrance. The view from the deck is stunning, so we had dinners and s'mores there every night. The solar power provided all the electricity we needed, and it was fun to see how much we used each day. Ty answered all our questions and took care of all our needs. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends."

  • Our Favorite Place Away From Home

"Our family of 4 (2 girls 10 and 11) absolutely loved our stay at the Ober's. The cabin was just the right size for us and the scenery just doesn't get any better. We woke early every day to watch deer, elk, and eagles along the river's edge. With an early breakfast we then headed to the park. The cabin is more secluded than many cabins we investigated which was a plus. While there are neighbors nearby we hardly saw them. When we did meet our neighbor we had a great visit about the park and the region. Everything about our stay was fantastic and we cannot wait to come back. We do have a few suggestions for anyone choosing to visit. 1. Vist the cabin before getting groceries. We made the mistake of buying too many items that were already stocked at the cabin (sugar, coffee, etc..) The grocery store isn't far away so making a second trip in won't take long. 2. Start early. We arrived at the park before 7:30 most days except one. One morning we slept in and got to the park at 9:00. We waited in line to get into the park and everywhere else. 3. Be sure and read the book by Mr. Ober about the park. Being a history teacher I loved reading a little of his book daily. You already feel like you are stepping out of time when you visit Glacier. His book made the trip even more mystical. 4. You probably want to bring an SUV to the cabin as the road to the cabin had standing water at times. Not bad but it wouldn't hurt. We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin had all the comforts of home and even more. We cannot wait to come back."

  • Excellent experience despite the rain!

"We came together from the individual places where our adult children have settled, for the first family vacation since they left home. We had hoped to spend our time exploring Glacier National Park. But, the weather did not cooperate and we spent half of the time at this home. We had children from15 months to 12 years of age. Most were under 5. Quite a little Wolf Pack. But, the house was completely stocked with everything that we needed! The refridgerator is huge and we all want one now! There are toys and games for every age group. They even supplied the movie we had talked about from the kids childhood! Our kids grew up around a fire pit, and it was just awesome to share fires with the littles! Kristine and Dave were so wonderful to work with and we would not hesitate to book from them again! This house is just perfect for a family reunion! Thanks so much for sharing your home with us and providing such a warm and loving environment for us to be a family again!"

  • Unbelievable Montana retreat!

"Just finished an outstanding 2 week stay at the lodge. Such a peaceful, serene setting. I am still dreaming of the afternoons spent sipping a beer and gazing at the fields and national forests in the background. Our toddler ran all over the huge lawn, and couldn't get enough of waving hi to the horses in the adjacent properties. 20 minutes to west glacier national park entrance, ~15 min to whitefish. We are already thinking of when we could come back. Brian is an gracious owner, and lives in the adjacent house. He definitely stays out of your way, but is also available for any issues that come up or to lend advice on what to see. When our rental car picked up a nail in the tire, he brought out an air compressor to fill up the tire so we could get to the shop! Also gave us great advice to head up to Polebrdige for pastries and up to Bowman Lake for a less crowded but gorgeous afternoon on the lake-beach. You should know that internet is provided, but really slow (I clocked 0.5mb/sec), which is fine because you're here to enjoy nature, not read Buzzfeed. However don't come in expecting to stream netflix. Also there is no air conditioning, which is fine for 90% of summer days, since evenings are quite cool and the house is designed to stay cool with its vaulted ceilings. However there was a heat wave ending the day we arrived, and so the first afternoon was a hot one, but every day after that was fine."
