  • Beautiful lakefront home with very close proximity to Glacier Natl. Park

"Posting on behalf of my non-tech savvy parents: What a Montana adventure! My wife and I flew to Glacier Intl. Airport from Kansas for a week of exploring in Glacier National Park with our youngest daughter who now lives in MT. We couldn't have been happier with this VRBO rental - beautiful lakefront property easily accessible via a paved country road from the main highway, but still felt secluded and private, plus there was zero light pollution which made for fantastic star gazing each night. We enjoyed drinking our coffee on the large deck overlooking the quiet lake each morning. The spacious kitchen gave us the opportunity to make our own meals (save $$$), but we still chose to head down the road to indulge at the historic Belton Chalet restaurant for dinner. Being just a few miles from Glacier's west entrance meant we were able to sleep in and still spend a full day in the park. We enjoyed several easy hikes (Trail of the Cedars and Hidden Lake Overlook), the full day Red Bus tour over Logan Pass to the east side, a guided evening boat ride on Lake MacDonald, and took advantage of the free bus rides up to Logan Pass - being from the flatlands of Kansas we intentionally avoided driving up/down the mountain. Also, the VRBO's close proximity to the park meant we let our daughter talk us into getting up very early one morning for a pre-dawn drive around the park's southern border to the east entrance where we joined the ranger guided hike up to Grinnell Glacier. It was perhaps a once in a lifetime activity for this 69-year-old Kansan to make such a hike (rain, sleet, snow, bears, moose, and big horned sheep), while my 68-year-old wife chose to stay behind in the Many Glacier Lodge to play card games with another hiker's wife. We finished our hike in late afternoon and still made it back to the lake house with plenty of time to relax on the deck with a cocktail. I can't thank Carole enough for letting us rent her beautiful lake home - she was kind and gracious throughout the entire process. Her home was our home for an incredible week of enjoying the Montana life. — Bob & Judi"

  • Our Favorite Place Away From Home

"Our family of 4 (2 girls 10 and 11) absolutely loved our stay at the Ober's. The cabin was just the right size for us and the scenery just doesn't get any better. We woke early every day to watch deer, elk, and eagles along the river's edge. With an early breakfast we then headed to the park. The cabin is more secluded than many cabins we investigated which was a plus. While there are neighbors nearby we hardly saw them. When we did meet our neighbor we had a great visit about the park and the region. Everything about our stay was fantastic and we cannot wait to come back. We do have a few suggestions for anyone choosing to visit. 1. Vist the cabin before getting groceries. We made the mistake of buying too many items that were already stocked at the cabin (sugar, coffee, etc..) The grocery store isn't far away so making a second trip in won't take long. 2. Start early. We arrived at the park before 7:30 most days except one. One morning we slept in and got to the park at 9:00. We waited in line to get into the park and everywhere else. 3. Be sure and read the book by Mr. Ober about the park. Being a history teacher I loved reading a little of his book daily. You already feel like you are stepping out of time when you visit Glacier. His book made the trip even more mystical. 4. You probably want to bring an SUV to the cabin as the road to the cabin had standing water at times. Not bad but it wouldn't hurt. We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin had all the comforts of home and even more. We cannot wait to come back."

  • Cozy new cabin in a quiet location!

"I enjoyed my 5 night stay at Kozy Cabins. There is a very comfortable bedroom, two small lofts, and a fold out couch in the main room, which my daughter and grand- daughter used during out stay. The kitchenette in the main room is fully stocked; small refrigerator, electric stove and oven, coffee maker, microwave, a TV that works great up on the wall, and a 4 person kitchen table at the large front window. The extra blankets & comfortable pillows were great, though there is a monitor type heater in the wall of the main room and the bedroom, which is easy to use, for those frosty nights! The location was perfect for our Glacier Mtn. trips, going shopping in Kalispell, out to breakfast, and food shopping. There are two cabins with a large deck area between them, with grills and a picnic table - which we didn't use since we were busy with friends and a large wedding. The owner is very gracious and available by phone for any requests or questions. Enjoy yourselves, we did!!"
