  • Our Favorite Place Away From Home

"Our family of 4 (2 girls 10 and 11) absolutely loved our stay at the Ober's. The cabin was just the right size for us and the scenery just doesn't get any better. We woke early every day to watch deer, elk, and eagles along the river's edge. With an early breakfast we then headed to the park. The cabin is more secluded than many cabins we investigated which was a plus. While there are neighbors nearby we hardly saw them. When we did meet our neighbor we had a great visit about the park and the region. Everything about our stay was fantastic and we cannot wait to come back. We do have a few suggestions for anyone choosing to visit. 1. Vist the cabin before getting groceries. We made the mistake of buying too many items that were already stocked at the cabin (sugar, coffee, etc..) The grocery store isn't far away so making a second trip in won't take long. 2. Start early. We arrived at the park before 7:30 most days except one. One morning we slept in and got to the park at 9:00. We waited in line to get into the park and everywhere else. 3. Be sure and read the book by Mr. Ober about the park. Being a history teacher I loved reading a little of his book daily. You already feel like you are stepping out of time when you visit Glacier. His book made the trip even more mystical. 4. You probably want to bring an SUV to the cabin as the road to the cabin had standing water at times. Not bad but it wouldn't hurt. We absolutely loved our stay! The cabin had all the comforts of home and even more. We cannot wait to come back."

"We had a great time staying at the glacier guest house and would recommend this spot for everyone! The kitchen is outfitted for just about any menu item and the owners are very attentive to any need! We would happily stay here again!"

  • Nice place

"The house was very clean and stocked with pretty much everything renters would need. The train does come by often as John noted in his description but we were all able to pretty much ignore it after a short while. The property behind the house has roosters so they may wake you up in the morning. Also, watch the bathroom faucet, if you turn it on fast you will get wet. John was quick to respond to our questions and pleasant to talk to. Overall, this place is close to Glacier, a nice place to stay, and well worth the money. I would recommend it to others."

  • Love, Love , Love this place!

"My husband, son and I stayed 3 nights over Labor Day Weekend. I happened across this place on VRBO after my husband dropped the ball and had not booked a place the night before we were to leave. Upon finding out that it was only 1 mile from park we immediately booked it. When we arrived we were very pleasantly surprised to find a very nicely done new 2 story Cabin that was spacious and well decorated. Everything was very cleaned and looked brand new. We were greeted with wine and homemade cookies. While we were there it was very quite with only one other couple staying at the lodge. There was an outside fire pit a beautiful patio with a lingo pong table. I'm telling you no hotel in the area could match the setting. Plus so close to the park, which we hiked all day, each day. The owners could not be any nicer and extremely responsive to request. If you want an excellent place to stay this is it."
