  • Our awesome Montana vacation

"Our family came up to visit with our sister and her husband who worked in Polson. There were four of us staying at the cabin for the week, but it could've easily fit 6 to 8 people. Janice, the owner spared no expense when decorating their cabin! The sheets, linens, pillows and comforters were comfortable and beautiful. The chairs in the living room were so comfortable that it put my brother in law right to sleep. Don't be shy of the convection oven either. It cooks quite efficiently once you learn where to adjust temps. I do wish there was a oven temperature guage. Janice touted that there were plenty of spices provided and boy, was she not kidding! You open up a drawer and boom, the whole space has a nice spice rack in it which holds easily, 50 spice jars. Loved it. The only thing about the kitchen is its set up for only one person really moving about. We had wished the island had come out just a foot or so. The views were magnificent and being an artist, I did do some sketches and a watercolor while sitting on the deck. There is a nice TV there, but it seems the satellite channels are set up mostly for movies and children. We didn't see many sports channels. Luckiky, we weren't there to watch TV. The road coming into the place is gravel and you must take it slowly, but we always saw some sort of animal each time we went into town. Be sure not to leave food out on the deck. I saw evidence of black bear while looking for pine cones. The town of Somers is very small but there are so many other towns within a 20 mile radius that we had plenty of places to go. Make sure you see Glacier National Park. It is so beautiful and if you hike, even better. I can't hike anymore, so we took the Red Bus tour which was very good ( a little cramped though).. It was a great trip and the Sumner cabin just made it that much more special! Thanks Janice for everything. Jane and family"

  • Wonderful time at the Log Cabin on Ashley Lake

"My husband and I had a wonderful time celebrating our 2 year anniversary at the cabin. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake at sunrise and watching the stars from the dock at night. Recommendations: Get to the cabin before night fall because the road to the cabin is rural and dark."
