  • Beautiful!

"Looking east to the Rockies from the deck - and just about every room - we enjoyed a glorious sunset as the setting sun illuminated the mountains. Quiet, comfortable, thoughtfully appointed, cooking basics (like olive oil and spices) already there - and a hot tub, too! Delightful stay. Thanks, Shannon!"

  • Great place to stay!

"We came up for a week to stay at Glacier National Park. We had 8 people (4 adults and 4 kids), and some additional relatives joined us for part of the stay, renting out the smaller part of the house as well. We have stayed at multiple properties through VRBO over the years, and this was the best maintained property we have stayed with. Everything was in good shape, clean, and worked well. The bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable! We had plenty of space and the boys enjoyed the bunk bed room (complete with a basket of wooden blocks). The house was quiet, the property is surrounded by woods and there is no appreciable road noise (there is an occasional train, and though I could hear it, it was not loud enough to be bothersome). The kitchen is small but we cooked a full dinner for 52 people in it one night without a problem, and the dining table fits quite a few around. The patio and deck areas provide good outdoor seating as well. There was plenty of space, so everyone could find somewhere to have some quiet time when they needed it. The house is 10-15 minutes from West Glacier, it was an easy drive and our host provided directions to the park from the house. Columbia Falls is 15 minutes away if you need a grocery store. The property is also about 5 minutes from the middle fork of the flathead river, which you will pass over on your way to Glacier. It is very cold water! but people do rafting/canoeing and swimming there (we found Lake McDonald in Glacier Park had warmer water). Overall I would definitely recommend this property if you have plans in Glacier National Park, or the surrounding area."

  • Exceeded our expectations in every way

"Absolutely fabulous property. The setting is postcard perfect. The cabin itself is furnished beautifully and every detail has been meticulously attended to and maintained. The owners are incredible hosts - there if you need them, otherwise invisible. A+++++ experience. It doesn't get any better than this!"

  • Great cabin and hosts, but loud train!

"Good: The cabin is just like the pictures and was great for our visit to glacier national park. It was close enough that full day hikes were doable, even when we planned for hikes on the other side of the park in Many Glacier. Hiking from Apgar or Logan pass was easily doable and we got to sleep in a little since it was so close! The cabin is located near a great butcher shop, and the grill on the back deck was convenient for grilling steaks. The cabin had great amenities like coffee, oil and spices for cooking, washer and dryer, and a comfy couch and bed. Less than good (but we still highly recommend this place!): The neighborhood is a little strange, in that theres a mix of older, less well kept properties, but the cabin itself was lovely and we never had a problem with the neighborhood. The cabin does face the railroad tracks, and a train goes by frequently and loudly. Even with the heavy curtains closed, and windows shut, there's no way you won't hear it every two hours. It shakes the bed in the loft upstairs. Some days it went by less frequently but our first night was interrupted a lot, even with ear plugs (which they provide). Since this was in the rental description, we weren't upset. While the train is way too loud to ever become white noise, we were tired enough from hiking that it didn't ruin our rest for early morning hiking. The spiral staircase is very pretty, but can be tough on taller folks and those sore from hiking. Not a big deal, unless you're traveling with elderly who may want to stay on the sleeper sofa downstairs. The wifi is also slow and disconnects regularly -- I never mentioned this to the hosts, so this may not be normal. It was not a necessity since we weren't online much, and it worked long enough to access trail maps and trail status updates. We couldn't access watch anything on Netflix due to the internet speed, but we weren't upset about it because it worked for our needs. Overall: Great place to stay and the hosts really do think about providing basics you might need. I recommend it to anyone visiting Glacier National Park, but I would tell them about the noise in case they are sensitive to being woken up. I would love to visit again in the future!"
