  • Lake McDonald Cabin in the Fall

"This Glacier Park cabin at Lake McDonald was one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed at during our travels. The views were spectacular! We enjoyed the fire in the wood burning stove and managed to use the bbq grill a few times. The cabin was at the south end of Lake McDonald which allowed us a majestic view of the snow capped mountains at the north end. Our only problem was the combination lock on the side door. Having never used a lock like this we did not understand how it worked. It was hard to see and get to work . We did not know there was a key inside the lock at first. After many attempts we finally figured out there was a key inside. We would suggest that instructions be included with new rental information for opening the lock for people like us. We got there at 4:30 pm and with the shadows from the pines it was very difficult to read. Also after reading the book on the cabin for a renters responsibilities we weren't sure if we were supposed to take the trash somewhere or leave it. We didn't have that much so we took it to a dumpster. It was wonderful having a washer and dryer! As two traveling mature people we only used one bedroom but really enjoyed the overall spaciousness of the cabin. Hope to return sometime in the future. Nancy & Danny, Gulf Shores, AL"

  • Awesome Chalet

"Clean and new. Beautiful kitchen and deck with BBQ. Great location, very close to West Glacier and park entrance. Negatives are the lower bedrooms are really small and cramped and there is only one bath/toilet. Overall 4.5 stars."

  • Exceeded Our Expectations!

"My hiking girlfriends and I just got back from our first big vacation together as a group and rented Apgar House. The house was much bigger than we thought it was going to be. I read a couple of reviews that said there was a shortage of hot water and towels. We didn't have either problem and we all took showers the same day and sometimes had both showers going and had plenty of hot water and towels. There were no plumbing problems or smells in the house. I think that the owners probably listen to the reviews and try to fix things right away. Is the master bath shower small? Yes, but really how much do you need to do in the shower. The house had everything we needed down to q-tips! Everything was clean and the beds were comfy. It's close to the shuttle stops and the lake is withing crawling distance, literally! Amanda was so welcoming and Kintla the park puppy was such fun. Booking was super easy, checking in was easy. I had a couple of questions before we got there and I got answers right away when I asked them. I can't think of anything bad to say about this house or the owners and management. We are thinking about going back one day. We would highly recommend this house!! Book early though because it is one of the few houses right in the park. We booked a year early and got a great rate."

  • The Perfect Home Base for Glacier National Park

"Where to begin? This could not be a more perfect base for a Glacier vacation! First, the beautiful log cabin! Second, the most gracious and lovely host, Penny! Lastly, it is perfectly situated to be able to indulge in the beauty of Glacier National Park. We visited and hiked 5 of the 7 regions of the park, easily coming "home" each night to this beautiful cabin. Fully equipped kitchen allowed us to make breakfast, pack trail lunches and enjoy wine by the fireplace while we made dinners. A little bit of heaven disguised as a VRBO!"
