  • More than we expected!

"I have to say this home was more than I expected. The pictures couldn't accurately depict the coziness of the home with its rustic decor, nor could they accurately describe the view from the house. I noticed at least one review commented on the trains, and there are quite a few. We found them quite fascinating though. It was quite picturesque to see the trains coming around the hill with the mountains in the background. We didn't have any trouble with them keeping us up at night. To us, they were a neat addition. The pool was a huge enjoyment. It is large and there are plenty of toys, etc to use. We drove to Yellowstone most days and used the pool in the evening. The house is located close to an hour from Yellowstone. With the park being large itself, there was a lot more driving than I had expected. However, the distance was stated in the description, so it was my own lack of foresight. I must say that the drive was an amazingly beautiful one though, and we made the best of it and enjoyed it! And the setting the house is located in is a most peaceful one! Internet/cell phone usage was a bit limited, but we could still find places in the house where we could get through, such as the deck off the kitchen. To us, this was a plus. It was nice to unplug from life for awhile and just enjoy one another. There were 10 of us, and we fit quite comfortably in the house without feeling crowded. Livingston was a nice sized town with plenty of grocery & supply options to help us get settled for our stay. It was only about 5 minutes from the house. All in all, I'd highly recommend this home. It was everything we had hoped for and more. It is a part of some very special memories that our family made on our trip, and we won't soon forget it!"

  • Truly unbelievable place to stay and enjoy!!

"I will start this review with a disclaimer: In no way my words will do justice to describe just how beautiful the cabin and location are. We did a tour of National Parks from South Dakota, up through Wyoming and then then down through Colorado. Four of us stayed at the cabin for the 4 days we toured Yellowstone and the surrounding area. The directions for check-in and travel to the cabin were perfect. As other have commented the road to the cabin is not a highway, but off the beaten path. However, for those who have traveled in the mountains before, especially hunters/hikers, the road is not bad at all - but I do recommend not taking a basic passenger car up it. the cabin is exactly as described and shown in the photos, and really even better. The setting on the edge of the bluff overlooking the valley was breathtaking each time we saw it during our stay. The interior gorgeous with great furnishings. It has all the modern conveniences, which you might not expect when driving to it! We never saw another person or vehicle during our stay. Our biggest regret is that we did not plan a day or two to do nothing but enjoy the cabin. The main room with the fireplace is stunning. Our last night there was cold, windy and rainy so we took the opportunity to start a crackling fire in the rustic stone fireplace and talk about all we saw over the prior days and how much we hated to leave! We did make time to hike up the peak behind the cabin and discovered it is actually the boundary to Yellowstone - basically right out the backdoor! We watched a sunrise from the peak and 20-30 elk in the meadows right below us grazing and even a couple of bulls were bugling. We took another hike further into the park on evening and were blessed with more amazing views and photo opportunities. The services was great - and by that I mean the reservation process was easy, I received all information and was charged when I was told I would be, everything was where is was supposed to be, and I received an email thanking me for my stay and letting me know I was getting my deposit back. I did not have to try and arrange to meet with someone when I arrived or left, so did not have that limitation on our schedules. No one came to the cabin while we were there, but we were made aware that if we needed something to call the contact person. Perfect in my book. We cannot wait to go back to the property. It has an amazing history and is the best vacation rental ever!"

  • Yellowstone area Perfection!

"Rivers Edge offers it ALL in one nice, neat package! The riverfront home is very clean and well kept and offers excellent views of the Yellowstone River from every room. Yellowstone National Park is only 20 minutes away and the ride in offers wildlife galore (elk, eagles, deer, bison). With the Yellowstone River at your front deck excellent trout fishing is seconds away. We saw hundreds of elk from the deck every day as well as deer, eagles, and cranes. A perfect location to unwind after a great day of exploring Yellowstone National Park!"

  • Beautiful home in a great location!

"We stayed at this home for a week in June and we absolutely loved it. The house was very clean, the kitchen was well stocked and well kept. The place was decorated very nicely, great mountain decor, beautiful fireplace! One of the best parts was being so close to restaurants, shops, supermarket and the playground. In the summer we like the meadow area better thant the Big Sky resort as it isn't crowded. Unfortunately the pool was not open yet, so we can't comment on it. My only complain is that we asked the property manager a couple of questions, but we never heard back from anyone. During our week there, we didn't hear from the property manager or the owner. I feel like it is nice to get an email just checking to ensure everything is ok. We wanted to donate our bear spray to the property, so future vacationers don't have to spend $70 getting one. We left it at the home, hopefully it will remain there for others to use."
