  • Third stay at Grey Wolf!

"I have been traveling to Yellowstone annually for fishing and vacation for over 10 years and always stay in the Cooke City/ Silver Gate area. Grey Wolf is by far the best accommodations we've found so far. The property is accurately described in the listing, is always very clean when we arrive and is reasonably priced. The storage room has everything you could possibly need as far as household supplies. The beds are very comfortable. Also, we like the fact that it is very close to the park entrance yet near good eating establishments as well. Grey Wolf is just off the beaten path enough to enjoy a bit of seclusion in your own section of the forest. I've taken my family there and at other times fishing buddies ... we are always pleased. After three yearly stays in a row, Christy and I are on first name basis and she is readily available by phone during my stay...but it's usually her calling me to see if everything's OK! I use VRBO a lot and this is one ranks among the highest of satisfaction for me."

  • Super cool lake house, bonus incredible location

"This home is loaded with character- it would be a cool lake house on any lake. But the location on Lake McDonald is INCREDIBLE. We woke up with the most amazing views out of our windows. The deck was a gorgeous setting for meals. Our kids loved skipping rocks in the lake and floating on rafts. We could kayak from the house. You can also jump on the Going-to-the-Sun Road and beat crowds more easily from the location. The house has a sense of heritage in the park, especially once you learn the owner's personal connection to the park. Charlene was one of the most outstanding homeowners to work with- communication was fantastic. Would give this rental our highest recommendation."

  • Paradise in Polebridge

"My husband and I spent 3 nights here in late September for our 30th anniversary. We enjoyed the remote location, and the views are incredible right from your porch. Mountains are all around you. No other cabins right on top of you. I woke early every morning and took my coffee onto the porch to watch the sunrise. Bundle up, but you will be rewarded. I will never forget seeing 2 wolves in the nearby field, and hearing wolves howl in the distance for a solid minute. Another morning I saw a red fox. Late one afternoon we saw a black wolf in the meadow. Mule deer every evening at dusk. The owner has provided binoculars and a spotting scope for you use. Another evening about dusk we saw a black bear standing in the road a few miles from the cabin. Watching the stars at night on the upper balcony is amazing as well. The cabin itself has all you need for cooking, and the wood stove is great. The bed upstairs is very comfortable and you will sleep great. The owners have thought of everything you could need, even providing a land line (bring a calling card). In the evening we enjoyed Yahtzee and doing crossword puzzles together. Disconnecting from television was wonderful. We bought food in Whtefish--no stores nearby other than the Mercantile. The Mercantile is great for coffee and homemade pastries and bread. They dont have much in the line of groceries. My husband loved the huckleberry turnover the best. They even have some gluten free options. You truly are in a remote and beautiful place in Polebridge. The road to the nearby park entrance is a little rough with large potholes but tolerable. We drove to Bowman Lake one day. The inner North Fork Road in the park is washed out and closed about 7 miles south of the entrance. Another day we drove north past Polebridge to Red Meadow Lake, on US Forrest Service property. Another beautiful, amazing place. There are 2 cans of bear spray at the cabin for your use, which was great since we came by train and couldn't bring ours from home. Another day we drove south to the Camas Creek entrance and hiked the Apgar Lookut hike. We spent the rest of the vacation on the east side of the park, but for us it didn't even compare to what we had in Polebridge. This cabin and the town of Polebridge is a wonderful piece of paradise."
