"David was very easy to work with. The home is centrally located on the east side of Glacier Park. You are within 10-15 minutes of both the Many Glacier and St. Mary entrances. For those unfamiliar with the geography, the east side of the mountains is more arid and sparsely populated compared to the west side. We stayed on both sides and enjoyed more sunshine in this location. Although this home is located on the lake most of the view is blocked by trees, but there is a walkway and chairs down by the lake. The view of the mountains from the dining room is spectacular. We enjoyed watching the clouds roll in from the west and the free roaming horses saunter by the house daily. If you are a bird enthusiast, you will see and hear several species right from the window. We saw several deer as well. Be prepared for the lake area and the Blackfeet Reservation to be rustic and not a high end resort-tourist area. The gravel road leading to the property is quite the off-road experience, but ultimately will be one of the memories that brings a smile to our faces as we think of the family members in the back seat getting bounced around. The home itself is solid with quality furnishings and decor. The beds were comfortable. One of my favorite memories will be looking at the house as from a distance with the wood log fence surrounding it. Quite a beautiful change from our tropical Florida surroundings. Overall, I highly recommend The Stone House as the perfect place to enjoy Glacier National Park."

  • Lovely

"Great place! Perfect for a big group. Well stocked and very comfortable. Easy drive into West and the park. But also pretty good hiking right from the cabin. Loved it."

  • Perfect perfect perfect!!!

"Our family came to stay for 8 nights in the middle of February. We came for some RnR and he home was more than perfect. It was close to blacktail and whitefish big mountain for skiing - which we did and loved! The home has a spectacular view of flathead lake and the mountains. We enjoyed all the windows for the view. The cabin was very clean, very open and perfect for us!! We would stay there again for sure! Hogie lived just up the hill and was easy to get ahold of and very helpful"

  • A wonderful place to stay.

"From beginning to end our stay at the Walking Bear Lodge was awesome. Enough room to accommodate a large group. Clean and beautiful. The backyard area was a fun place for the kids to play football and tag. The hot tub was awesome. Kitchen (actually 2, one in the basement) was well stocked. Two sets of washers and dryers made keeping close clean a breeze. LuAnn was easy to communicate with prior to our arrival and very accommodating . The place is private but she was only a personal message away from meeting our needs. I would stay here again if we have the opportunity to return to this area. The firepit was fun for smores. Overall we just had a wonderful experience here for our stay."
