  • Fun Family weekend house

"We had a lovely time at your home in Quechee. The house is big and well equipped for a large family, or two or three smaller ones. We loved that it is so close to the ski area. It was fun for grandparents to cross country ski on the golf course and just walk over to see the little ones speed down the friendly downhill slope."

  • 2nd stay just as great as 1st time!

"We stayed at this rental 2 years ago for a week and came back for a 2nd time this year. Chalk Pond is very quiet & peaceful. The house comes with a canoe and kayak that we love to use on the pond. My husband & teenage boys usually Canoe over to the beach, while I drive around to the parking area with chairs & food. There are also some nice walking trails close to the house, so that's a plus if you like hiking. The house has everything you need to cook, and even has a bunch of things included that I wasn't expecting, such as dish detergent, laundry detergent, cleaners, trash bags, and even some toilet paper. They are all labeled for tenant's use, so you know it's o.k. to use them. There are also beach chairs, floats, coolers, and beach towels. We really only need 2 bedrooms with the 4 of us, but my older teen likes taking over the den with futon to have his own private space. We will probably be back again in 2 years. We like to alternate big summer trips with this smaller one close to home!"

  • Enjoyable area to explore

"The studio was comfortable, clean and quiet. Cindi and Brett were great hosts-available if needed. They greeted us when we arrived and gave us some advice on dining and outdoor adventures and put the ac in the window which we needed one night. We rode our mountain bikes on the Sugar River Trial which was beautiful, but the trail had some sandy spots that made it very difficult to pedal. There were several ATV's on the trail also which was fine except when they came by and kicked up a lot of dust. We also did a 2-mile climb to the summit of Mt. Sunapee which was a great trail but difficult if you are not in decent shape. The view at the summit was beautiful. You could also take a ski lift to the top and walk down the mountain. The Adventure Park was also open with other cool stuff to try especially for families. The State Beach also rents kayaks/canoes for an hour or a half day starting Memorial Day weekend. Flying Goose had great nachos and my husband loved the beer brewed on site. They have a solar-powered brewery on site that we would have loved to have checked out but Brewer works weekdays only. Pizza at Bubba's was good - wood fired pizza oven. Grab a pizza to go and find a spot across the street overlooking the lake. Sanctuary Farm Ice Cream was delicious - fun place to hang out with kids. Animals to pet, etc. Mill Stone on Main St. had delicious food, drinks and excellent service. French Dip was delicious. Sunapee Harbor was quaint with shops and small restaurants. Preservation Center was worth a visit."

  • Great winter spot for the family

"We rented the house for 3 days during February break and had the best time! We have three young kids and there was plenty of room for all. The house is on a pretty little lake, and we are planning to come back in the summer for some more days. We made a fun sledding hill next to the cottage, ending on the lake. The kids had a blast and we did not have to go anywhere. Dog friendly as well, and the street does not get too much traffic. It is a bit close to the highway and you can hear the trucks in the still of the night, but this was not really an issue for any of us. One part of the house is heated by a large wood stove, and it took some time figuring out the correct burn settings to keep the temp below 80, but it is well set up and more than adequate to heat the area. Great spot and an easy rental experience, close to Sunapee, and I'm sure it is awesome in the summer as well. Will definitely go back."
