  • Great for families!

"We had a WONDERFUL experience at "The Sandbar" in June of 2016. With three children under the age of 4, safety and cleanliness is key for us, and this house hit the mark. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean with comfortable furniture, nice bedding, and huge windows with a view of the lake from nearly every room. The kitchen is amazing, beautiful countertops, high end appliances and fully equipped with quality cookware and tons of dishes, utensils, cups, mugs, etc. The beach is fantastic and the water was so clear and clean, and shallow enough for little ones to play in without needing a life preserver on the entire time. Lots of toys and rafts available for our use, the whole family enjoyed outings in the paddle boat and even the little ones caught fish. We look forward to returning next year!"

  • perfect getaway

"Secluded, well kept property with plenty of space. Wife and I and our 2 dogs had a most relaxing long weekend here. Brought my own little fishing boat. Docks are sturdy and well placed. House has all the amenities-(felt like home having a Keureg)-gas grill, big screen HD tv, pre-cut and seasoned wood onsite for fires. Caretaker across street couldn't have been nicer-did not need them-but was comforting knowing they would be available and approachable if we did. Smooth transactions with owner, good communication. Will return if we can get away again. Dogs loved it!!, lots of room to run!"

  • Amazing family retreat!

"This property provides an amazing homelike feel and was the perfect location for our family retreat. The property was so much more than we expected. It was clean and comfortable; open and welcoming. The spacious interior offered lots of room to gather for conversation and spread out for private time and contemplation. The rooms were large and comfortable the kitchen space accommodating. The ping pong table, fire pit and kayaks offered additional enjoyment for all ages. The huge deck provided a serene view of the crystal clear lake. The July 4th puzzle was a thoughtful touch that provided a focal point and brought the family together for collaborative bonding. Yes, we finished it! We brought our pontoon boat, put in at the public dock and had plenty of clearance at the property's dock to secure the boat. The lake is not overrun with too many speedboats allowing for leisurely cruises around the lake and plenty of fishing time for our avid anglers. Kudos to Julie for being a gracious and thoughtful provider of amenities that make a family getaway successful, fun and worry free. Our children, after visiting for a 4th of July BBQ and cruise around the lake immediately asked for the property contact convinced that the convenient location, child friendly lake front, ease of access and comfort factors & amenities far exceeded their current choice of vacation accommodations on Cape Cod. Especially given summer traffic... I highly recommend this property for any large family summer vacationing. A rare find."

  • Best place to stay in Alton Bay

"Our family of 4 booked this beautiful home way back in the winter and we thought all spring and summer about our week at Alton Bay. When it finally arrived we had a great week of weather and the house was incredible. Very roomy and well equipped, the only thing we should have brought were our pillows as the down pillows seemed flat. The multiple decks, ah the decks-I can't say how many hours I sat out there, and 3 kayaks were used everyday even though we rented a 23' pontoon boat for the week, which fit nicely at the dock. We had company several days and the most in the house on one day was 11 and the house as large as it is still never felt cramped or congested. My husband fell in love with the wooden sculpture high up on the living room wall, he wants to know where you got it. We only turned the TV's on 2 nights (one night to watch the Patriots' play :)) and Tuesday the only day it rained a bit. We used the gas grill several evenings to cook and 1 night we even used the gas fire to ward off a chill in the evening air. We played games and 45's every night, we brought our own. All the games in the home seemed like they were missing a piece or a card- it would be nice if guests treated the game area with care. Mount Major is just 1.5miles up the road and a great hike and incredible views from the top. We went to Shibley's for lunch and Pop's Clam Shell for dinner, both great spots to eat. This is a tremendous house in a tranquil cove. We truly enjoyed this very relaxing week and thank Brian and his family for opening up their doors to their well crafted home."
