  • A great waterfront and an architect's house....what could be better?

"A great waterfront and an architect’s house…..what could be better? This home is a combination of elegance, comfort, and ingenious use of space. There are multiple gathering spots to afford simultaneous puzzle construction and a game of Risk in the family room, enjoy a cup or coffee (or a margarita) in the spacious kitchen or comfortable outdoor space beyond the three sets of French doors, or nap under the overhead fans in the hurricane lamp-lit screened-in porch. We became fascinated with finding all of the space efficiencies in the home including the in-island microwave drawer, the tucked away mixing bowl, and an entire closet of cookware. The light-flooded kitchen worthy of being a Food Network set easily seats 10 (we are 2 families of 4 and grandparents) and inspired meals with the cast-iron skillet (blueberry and peach cobbler) and array of cookware. The light and airy bedrooms are all upstairs and cozy; the master suite is uncommonly posh…elegantly luxurious. Outdoors, artistry is present with a wrought iron railing attached to the boulders to assist water entry via stone steps into the lake. There is colorful landscaping, a yard to throw a football and a new u-shaped dock. The navigation of docking takes some skill but is clearly marked in the owner home manual. There are multiple kayaks, life-jackets as well as water skis and a tow rope so you don’t have to rent those along with a motor boat. Owners, Cathy and Denny, clearly have a passion for the outdoors with a hiking/biking library (efficiently stored by the fireplace), and a love of family and good times. They are immediately responsive to questions and the home owner’s manual is full of local tips. I hesitate to share this gem, but there is no better spot to rejuvenate and connect with friends and family---just don’t take our week!"

  • Perfectly situated on a quiet, beautiful island.

"16 Whortleberry is comfy and spacious with just the right amount of accoutrements: Wifi, A/C, washer/dryer if needed, movies, and a local tv station for news (if you even want to know...). The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, including a Whortleberry pie for dessert! Not a fancy kitchen, but who wants to spend time in there with the loons calling right in front of you! The front porch is perfect, but needs some nice Adirondack chairs our some cushioned, comfy furniture for lounging and curling up with your favorite book. We didn't use the boats, kayaks and a canoes available, as we have a pleasure craft and explored the lake with it. If you follow the lake path tucked behind the canoe, there's a footbridge and a perfect little sandy beach with enough room for your beach chair and your feet soaking in the warm July water. Would we go back? We're already talking about next year. A resounding yes from humans and canine alike."

  • Cottage Vacation

"The family really enjoyed the stay at the lake in this picture perfect lakeside cottage. Lived in New Hampshire for 10 years and always wanted to stay at the lake. Now that we have moved away we decided to take a vacation back in NH. The cottage was all it was billed to be. Clean, quite, good dock and just the overall feel of being back in time made the vacation special. One extra plus was the breathtaking sunsets you get to see each night !!"

  • Great Holiday on Lake Winnipesaukee New Hampshire

"The property was exactly as described by the owners and Josie was quick to answer all queries to our satisfaction. It was clean and well-appointed. We had a comfortable bed, and plenty of space in the living areas and bedroom. All the appliances worked well and we cooked in the condo for most of our meals. As a dog owner, I appreciated the many grassy areas on the grounds of the condo complex and the fact that everyone kept their dog messes cleaned up. We met many of the condo residents while walking our dog and everyone was friendly. The view from the master bedroom of the bay is great, and we saw some pretty sunsets almost every night from the deck. We liked being in Laconia as it was centrally located with close-by restaurants and stores, plus there's less traffic than either Wolfeboro or Meredith. For dog owners, there's a doggie day care called Four Paws Inn that's convenient for those days when your activities can't include your dog. Our activities included boating on wonderful Lake Winnipesaukee, hiking, visiting tourist sites and looking at covered bridges. We ate at T-Bone Tom (good prime rib), Patrick's (music and light meals), and Lyons Den. All were good experiences and reasonably priced. We would recommend this property."
