  • Great for multiple families, excellent host

"We just wrapped up an awesome week for our first time on the lake. We made great use of the firepit, kayaks, boat dock, board & yard games, sandpit and grill - all had us practically living outside whenever we could. Pam was a great landowner, offering very good insight about the area, good places to boat, hike & eat, and even hooked us up with a babysitter!!! that we would highly recommend - a local high-schooler/family friend who handled our two families' 5(!) children with ease. Our favorite elements of the house itself were the 2 master bedrooms that both had gorgeous views & their own little porches; the "camp room" where all the cousins piled into the bunk beds & trundle; and a set of french doors that separated all the sleeping quarters from the kitchen/living room - allowing our early-risers to be up and playing, making coffee etc. while the older kids could sleep in. We will be back!"

  • Perfectly situated on a quiet, beautiful island.

"16 Whortleberry is comfy and spacious with just the right amount of accoutrements: Wifi, A/C, washer/dryer if needed, movies, and a local tv station for news (if you even want to know...). The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, including a Whortleberry pie for dessert! Not a fancy kitchen, but who wants to spend time in there with the loons calling right in front of you! The front porch is perfect, but needs some nice Adirondack chairs our some cushioned, comfy furniture for lounging and curling up with your favorite book. We didn't use the boats, kayaks and a canoes available, as we have a pleasure craft and explored the lake with it. If you follow the lake path tucked behind the canoe, there's a footbridge and a perfect little sandy beach with enough room for your beach chair and your feet soaking in the warm July water. Would we go back? We're already talking about next year. A resounding yes from humans and canine alike."

  • Perfect location, clean, comfortable, blissful

"Second time visitor to this property - can't wait for our next stay! The amenities and views are second to none in this area. You must pay the Allacoya Grille a visit for dinner if not for the food, then to be inside a 1700's barn that's been repurposed and refurbished with much of the original structure still intact. Its right across the road from the Samoset Condos. Oh, and the pool is divine in the summer! It was clean and the perfect temperature for cooling off. Plenty of comfy lounge chairs and views all around! Thanks!"

  • Gary & Susan: massachusetts

"We echo the other 5 star reviews. The photos don't lie. We also had three generations for our 50th anniversary celebration. The kids loved the waterfront which is calm and user friendly as opposed to the big water lake. Went to the drive-in movie for novelty experience for the kids, rented pontoon boat with operator (no boating license nightmare) at EkAL-Meridith as well as paddleboards for a day (well worth it). Highly recommend Hart's Turkey Farm for any catering needs. Robb & Allison have thought of everything. Don't overthink this . Just GO!"
