  • Really perfect in every way

"We had a family reunion this past summer with my husband's family. Ages ranged from 25 to 85. The pictures don't do the house justice especially from a roominess perspective. All of my family remarked the same thing. The beautiful sandy beach, the gradual decline of the water and the spacious flat yard made this the perfect place for my mother-in-law and would have been ABSOLUTELY perfect for my niece and nephew with their 2 young kids. Unfortunately they had a last minute conflict and couldn't take advantage. All of our family members would find some nook and cranny to hang out in, then we'd reconvene to either the spacious living room, screened porch or large deck. We'd also light up the fire pit. While some of us surrounded it directly, others would enjoy viewing it from the deck which was the perfect distance away. There was plenty of seating no matter where you were. Plenty of room to sleep and very comfortable. My late owl nephew would sleep on the beautifully appointed day bed tucked away on the screened porch (looked straight out of House & Garden btw). The interior is well appointed and updated. LR spacious, yet warm and inviting. My only comment would be around the upstairs bathroom. A wee bit small, but really not a big deal given all the other things I've mentioned. And we were only there when it was time to sleep anyway. The house is located in an upscale neighborhood and is very private. Yet, it's also remarkably close to everything. We had a mishap with a wine glass, and I wanted to replace it. Home Goods was a quick ride away, as was the grocery store when we needed some supplemental supplies. Julie was also amazing. We had some confusion during check in and she was right there readily available to help us. It was clear also that she'd also do whatever she needed to make sure we were ok. Truly a professional. This was our first experience with HomeAway, and I have to say that Julie has set a high standard. Thanks Julie for helping us create some really great memories! We'd definitely come back here......no doubt."

  • Wonderful getaway

"We just returned from a wonderful week at the North Ledges. My husband and I took our daughter and 2 sons ranging from 15 years to 21 years to this island getaway to enjoy a week of family time. We enjoyed the tennis courts, hiking around the island, swimming in the crystal clear lake water, rafting and kayaking, and fishing - although we didn't catch much off the pier but we were not out so early in the morning (teenagers!). We also enjoyed the hot tub at the end of the day. We rented a boat while there and hit the mainland on a cloudy day for some bowling, ice cream, weirs beach and dinner. We did not indulge in the all inclusive option as we have some picky eaters but the option seems very interesting if you are willing to try different menus. We barbecued mostly and went out a few nights. They will take you back and forth to the mainland upon your requests as it is a quick 10 minute ride over and you may even get the treat of riding in the owners Riva 33 foot boat that feels like you are riding on glass. The owner and his family members are all very nice, interesting, and all are very helpful. While there is a rustic setting, the cottage is top notch with great views of the lake. The beds are very comfortable, there is no dishwasher but there is laundry machines in a nearby unit. We had a wonderful stay and we look forward to returning to enjoy again in the future."

  • Loved Squam at Stillwater

"We absolutely loved our stay at Stillwater! The place was so clean, quiet, and cozy. We brought our bass boat and fished the lakes in the morning, and in the evenings we enjoyed trolling by our place for fish. The dock was so convenient, and steps from the back porch. We saw bald eagles almost everyday. Our favorite part of the house was the screened in porch for board games and lunch. Thank you both, be back soon!!"

  • Great 3 Night Getaway

"We loved this townhouse. Plenty of places to sleep. Traveled with my family of 5 as well as my sister and her husband and there were still beds to spare. The house was clean and cozy. Ron and Iris answered all our questions before and made sure we knew they would be available if needed ( which we didn't) The pool was great, although we couldn't find any lights and after 6 pm it was pretty dark in there. We would definitely stay here again!"
