  • Classic Lake House

"Rustic but very clean, comfortable and with all the amenities. Located on the eastern side of the lake and removed from the main road in a secluded area, you have tons of privacy and great views of the sunsets. Private dock allowed easy access to swimming, laying in the sun and boating. Great deck looking out onto the lake. We brought a kayak but it was nice being able to also use the canoe at the house. Large lot with only one close neighbor so we always felt as if we were there by ourselves. Easy 15 minute access to downtown Wolfsboro. I would not hesitate to rent this house again which I very well may do next year. Thank you."

  • Simply magical!

"Stayed for two nights with a group of friends over Halloween weekend, and we all could not be more pleased! The house itself is in the most beautiful, private spot near the end of a dirt road. The leaves were beautiful, the pond was still and peaceful, and despite a rainy and chilly weekend, we made use of the 2 kayaks and the canoe, and had a lovely paddle around the misty pond, with mountains peaking through the fog as we rowed! The house itself is much larger than it even appears on the outside, with plenty of comfortable spaces for even our large group. The kitchen floor, with the den, the woodstove, the long dining table overlooking the porch (with a propane heater, which we didn't utilize, but wish we could have!) was the perfect area for board games, tarot reading and collaborative cooking. The kitchen is truly a cook's kitchen, and had almost everything we needed for two solid days of cooking (except a ladle? It seems impossible that there isn't one - we probably just couldn't locate it, because Carl has literally every other possible culinary tool you could want). The whole house is clean, modern, extremely comfortable, and has a warm, lived-in energy that made everyone feel relaxed and at ease the entire weekend. Also, there is foozeball AND ping pong. We can't wait to come back, on a hopefully less rainy weekend, as the outside spaces were fantastic as well! There's a sitting area near the pond with a chiminaria and benches and a picnic table. And there's also a large fire pit area next to the dock, which was the perfect spot for a Halloween bonfire! And...there's a smoker! We didn't utilize this either, but look forward to hopefully coming back soon! Overall, I could not more highly recommend this house, and the owner, who was prompt and clear in his communications, and whose ownership has left the Pond House with a really quite wonderful vibe! It was everything we could've asked for, and we can't wait to come back! Thank you, Carl!"

  • Farmhouse on White Oak Pond

"We held our biannual family reunion at the Farmhouse and one other nearby house. The house and location were perfect for all three generations. The house is an updated farmhouse with interesting architecture and history. The owners who live next door are very friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. There is lots of room to relax, indoors and out. There are canoes and kayaks for exploring White Oak Pond, and there are some excellent trails within a short driving distance. Squam Lake, which is right across the main road, is a larger and more interesting body of water, but it draws a lot more attention from visitors too. The nearby Squam Lake Natural Science Center is outstanding. We had a memorable reunion there, and I would strongly recommend the Farmhouse to anyone."

  • Great for multiple families, excellent host

"We just wrapped up an awesome week for our first time on the lake. We made great use of the firepit, kayaks, boat dock, board & yard games, sandpit and grill - all had us practically living outside whenever we could. Pam was a great landowner, offering very good insight about the area, good places to boat, hike & eat, and even hooked us up with a babysitter!!! that we would highly recommend - a local high-schooler/family friend who handled our two families' 5(!) children with ease. Our favorite elements of the house itself were the 2 master bedrooms that both had gorgeous views & their own little porches; the "camp room" where all the cousins piled into the bunk beds & trundle; and a set of french doors that separated all the sleeping quarters from the kitchen/living room - allowing our early-risers to be up and playing, making coffee etc. while the older kids could sleep in. We will be back!"
