  • Great Vacation Spot

"We had a wonderful vacation here! Joanne and Terry were very hospitable. The house is clean and inviting with enough seating and beds for 8 people not to mention the deck with plenty of seating to enjoy your meals or just to enjoy your morning coffee on the wicker chairs. The location is perfect with the white sand beach and the views are amazing!. If you're lucky enough to wake up in time for sunrise you will witness a magnificent view from both the deck or the beach. Leavitt bay is calm for kayaking, but also great for boating and tubing. We especially enjoyed our daily treks by boat to the main lake. I can't say enough about this property. We can't wait to go back next year!"

  • More Than Your Average "Coop"

"My wife and I had a glorious time at The Coop. We were close enough to the many activities in the area, yet definitely “removed from everything.” Once we found the place (1.6 miles up the road), we were thrilled to find this tastefully decorated, charming hidden jewel with a breathtaking view overlooking the entire region. It was a place to ‘exhale’ as we both used the time as a respite to celebrate our birthdays, and re-energize. Phyllis and Mich were wonderful hosts as they welcomed us to the area and even had some special treats for us in the fridge as a birthday gift. I appreciated their warmth and hospitality, while also combining it with a respect for our privacy (many hosts don’t always know where that ‘line’ is). The Coop’s kitchen was well equipped which made for easy homemade preparation of our meals either before or after our days hiking in the area. The Coop’s high ceilings, open plan and sun lit space was comfortable, while its heavily stocked cabinet of board games offered some properly paced fun, and many laughs (Scrabble continues to be our ‘go to’ game). We DID have wifi, although we limited internet access to simply getting directions, and maybe one sneak peek at emails. Finally, The Coop was wonderfully quiet, yet filled with the orchestral sounds that only nature can offer (smiling as I write this). Simply put, The Coop comes with my highest recommendation! We will be back :)"

  • Quiet Getaway

"We use to stay on rattlesnake every summer however, the house was sold. For people who use to be regulars on the lake we surely have missed it. This was our first vacation together my fiancé and I and we could not wait to get up there. The house was big enough for the two of us and is located on a dead end street. It didn't seem like many people stay at the trailers during the week which was nice for us. Colleen responds to your questions and messages in a timely manner and was always there when I needed her. There is a binder that is left behind with rules of the house. I feel that it should be updated because some of the things in our emails didn't match up to the binder. I just followed what was emailed to me before arriving. Another thing was that the WIFI password would not work on my ipad or iphone. I do not know if I did this wrong or it was the wrong one. However it didn't matter much to us because we were spending a great part of our vaca on the lake anyways. Before arriving she did mention that the town made a new rule about leaving boat trailers at the marina. All though this wasn't her fault I found it annoying and time consuming. We had to pull the trailer to the marina launch the boat, I waited in the boat while my fiancé drove the car and trailer back to the house( thank goodness its literally right across the street) unhitch the trailer and come back to the marina to find a parking spot. Then we would be on the way. My advice bring two cars therefore you can use one to launch the boat, bring it back without unhitching, swap the pass to another car and drive right back across the street. The docks are open for a long period of time and as a guest you can tie up for 3 hours. Another good thing about the marina was that marine patrol is located in the area. So if you had any questions they are nearby to help. Also the Lions Den is in the same parking lot make sure you make a reservation before hand. We did not and ended up in the bar with many older people who were drunk. The owner of the restaurant was nice and willing to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. We were starving and the bar was quicker with the food than the restaurant side. We would like to thank Colleen and her family for allowing us to stay in there lovely home."

  • Great house!!!

"This house was nice! The bedroom Set up really didn't workout as well I planned just because I had two toddler and they did want to sleep in the second bedroom. But we had brought an air mattress just in case and it all worked out for us. Great locations between ragged mountain and Tilton. 20 mins both ways. Steve was great everything was clean and stocked. Hope you enjoy it as well."
