"We would definitely consider going back again: Loved (1) the close proximity to the beach (huge, huge positive!!! Awesome location--very easy stroll back to the house for lunch, etc. And North Beach in Hampton State Park has amazing sand and waves good for family boogieboarding!!!); (2) the private parking and private road that is Witch Island Way ... not a busy traffic throughway at all; and (3) that the house came very well equipped with bed sheets, washer/dryer, outdoor shower, etc. ... we left all the stuff we usually bring to a rental at home and we're fine.
However, as much as we lived the location, we might rent one of the other houses on Witch Island Way. The biggest challenge we had was the lack of any sort of a/c, which resulted in two sleepless night: one because we arrived during a heat wave and the house didn't get below 85-90 degrees that night and the other because, even without the heat wave, we had to keep the windows open at night to cool the house to a reasonable sleeping temp. (This was a challenge because the 3 families renting/sharing the neighboring house arrived on our last night and were outside talking on their porch with the lights on all night... it wasn't a raucous party, but the lights and noise streamed into 2 of the 3 the bedrooms because we couldn't shut the windows.). The fans available in the house didn't help enough. Simple window units would allow the house to be cooled before bed after a hot day so the windows didn't have to be left open, and every bedroom has ample windows so you could still have the option of opening windows.
Be aware that this is an older house. We guess it was the original house on Witch Island Way (we heard many of the houses in the Witch Island Way condo association are/were owned by people related to each other). If you are a perfectionist / have OCD this house might not be for you. There were lots of little things that could use maintenance: peeling wallpaper, smoke detectors without batteries, some mildew on the wall on the sunroom porch (former exterior wall), pilot light not working for a burner on the stove, sticky fridge door, a few outdoor chairs that wouldn't sit on, etc. For us, these didn't matter -- the house worked well."
