  • Second Stay

"My husband and I love Brookings, and love Sounds of the Sea. This is our second visit and it was such a wonderful feeling to "come home" (we call it our cottage by the sea). Roberta and Bill are so gracious and their home is beautifully kept. Always clean and well organized. Thank you Roberta and Bill for another great visit."

  • The Owners Keep Making the Best, the Bestest !!!!!

"Another delightful season here, and again the ever caring owners created a beautiful decor add on. walking into the Rec/Family room, I was so surprised to see that a unique flooring had been installed, a cork like design !!! it is so different and really pretty, add to that the colorful "pop" border all around, and it is a winner. But the owners didn't stop there, they added two very nice picnic tables out back by the grill-there was already seating, they just thought we might need more !!! quite nice Gosh, I have so enjoyed my time here, this home is so cozy, so pretty, and such a pleasure to stay in--it really fits the saying, as a home away from home. In my other reviews I have gushed, praised, and extolled the beauties and quality of this home, and of course, it is all still here. Again, I want to repeat myself, and say this home is beyond amazing. There is no way anyone could stay here and not enjoy themselves--regardless of the weather. After all the weather is just that, it defines whether we have sun or not, but it does not stop our enjoyment of our beautiful cozy surroundings. This home is a treasure---I sure hate to leave, I will miss seeing the wonderful sunrise and sunset views from the deck."

  • Great place for large group

"We had a very large group, more than 20 people, and this cabin easily accommodated everyone. It has 2 refrigerators with freezers & lots of beds. It also has a video game machine, pool table, ping pong table, media room and hot tub to help keep everyone entertained. It's fairly close to Park City and also not far from a couple of lakes. The cabin itself is located near the top of a mountain - about a 3 mile drive uphill from I-80. Also, there's parking for about 6 vehicles not including the very steep part of the driveway, or gravel pad adjacent to the driveway and home."

  • Relaxing Vacation with our Large Family.

"Our large family, of up to 18 at times, enjoyed a week at the Hemlock Lake House. We came prepared with all our own linens as necessary for the rental. We used the washer and dryer multiple times every day and they worked great. The kitchen was stocked wonderfully for a large group with plenty of everything. There was a good variety of cooking pots large and small, large bowls, and plenty of utensils. Your pancake griddle was very useful and worked wonderfully. The house came with a nice supply of indoor and outdoor games and puzzles. We were also very excited by the supply of kayaks large and small and other boats that were at the house for our use. Your pier for the boats was just right and we enjoyed swimming in the water in front of the house and floating on our rafts. The lake was great with the time in the morning and evening for calmer waters. We spent a lot of time exploring the lake at all hours. I think my favorite was at 10 pm just staring up at the stars. The selection of life preservers was much more thorough then I expected with adult and youth jackets. There was also plenty of outdoor chairs on upper and lower deck areas. I would be happy to share your property info with any of my friends who are interested in renting your house. My husband and I, and our boys on their sleeping bags, enjoyed the master bedroom. The view was great and my husband had a very good pair of noise cancelling headphones that let him go to bed at 10:00 and not be bothered by the games and talk that were going on below. We used all the types of beds except for the pull out couch and they were good. Your house is beautiful and we enjoyed reading your families history that is framed by the door. What a blessed story."
