  • Couldn't ask for better!

"The house and scenery were magnificent! My wife, my 3 daughters, and I had a great week escaping the southeastern heat and absolutely hated having to leave. Mary Ann and Ken were kind, gracious hosts and super helpful with all of my questions. We spent time swimming, kayaking, and fishing and loved the sounds of the loons. We were planning a different vacation next year, but had such an amazing time we're probably coming back!"

  • Perfectly situated on a quiet, beautiful island.

"16 Whortleberry is comfy and spacious with just the right amount of accoutrements: Wifi, A/C, washer/dryer if needed, movies, and a local tv station for news (if you even want to know...). The kitchen had everything we needed to make our meals, including a Whortleberry pie for dessert! Not a fancy kitchen, but who wants to spend time in there with the loons calling right in front of you! The front porch is perfect, but needs some nice Adirondack chairs our some cushioned, comfy furniture for lounging and curling up with your favorite book. We didn't use the boats, kayaks and a canoes available, as we have a pleasure craft and explored the lake with it. If you follow the lake path tucked behind the canoe, there's a footbridge and a perfect little sandy beach with enough room for your beach chair and your feet soaking in the warm July water. Would we go back? We're already talking about next year. A resounding yes from humans and canine alike."

  • Worked out well for our families

"My review would echo many of the other accolades. Great location, quick response from owner, quiet area, beautiful kitchen, clean. We may have been the first renters of the season as the propane tank needed to be filled(no biggie and owner offered to refund). I agree the outside is dated and not really a good set up for young kids. We played outside a little in the driveway area but that was it. Would of liked a little more space. Definitely could of used some TLC on yard work too. I did like the multi levels for some privacy. It was slightly difficult because we were 2 families with 4 kids 5 and under, so we split up adults and kids to make it work but it really was fine and we knew that going into it. We loved that we were close to Echo Lake, Storyland and Diana's Bath. Great weekend all around."

  • Splendid Place!!

"My college friends and I spent another wonderful annual reunion at this beautiful place. We celebrated our friend's retirement and laughed about old times. This property is situated perfectly on the lake. We paddled around the lake and decided that Sue's place has the most spectacular setting. We love the deck, the outdoor shower, the kayaks, the neighbors, the surrounding rolling fields and farmland, the convenient location, the sounds of the loons and the sunlight that pours into the house. I love to cook and everything type of kitchen utensil is there. Thank you so much for another memorable visit, Sue. Salem State College Girls, Class of 1970"
