  • Cozy Apartment!!

"We recently stayed for 6 weeks in this cozy garden apartment. The location is convenient to coffee shops, restaurants, bus - only one block away from Washington Street. We felt very safe in this neighborhood of old brownstones. The hosts answered any questions that we had and were very accommodating. We've already booked our next stay!!"

  • An experience to cherish forever!

"We came for my wife's birthday, which happened to be on Thanksgiving Day to see the Macy's Day Parade. A big bucket list item. From the day we started discussing the idea of renting Ruth and Henry's home for the week, Ruth was extraordinarily helpful and accommodating. The house brought all of us back to our childhood days. Big old house, tons of room to spread out, gorgeous woodwork like the old days with modern amenities. The neighborhood is simply awesome. After all the trips into New York for the Parade, Time Square, Broadway, Empire State Building, The Tonight Show, 911 Memorial, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty... on and on and on, we would still wake up early, walk around the area, try a different deli or grocery and meet people. The people were so much fun. Met an elderly couple that spent the better part of a morning showing us around. An old church, a convent, an old newspaper printing company. And Harold! OMG this guy was a riot. He was a sanitation supervisor who stopped at a deli for breakfast. "Yoos come all de way from Caleefoyneeaaa to see New Joysee. Are yoos frigin cwazy!" The guy had us in stitches. Oh and he loved our accents. haaaa Henry picked us up from the airport and Manny took us back to the airport. Two wonderful people. After five minutes you felt like you were part of the family. I would definitely recommend this place if you have any intentions of visiting New Jersey or New York. As a matter of fact I already have. They are planning the same trip we took for next year and will be contacting Ruth soon. Stop looking, you've found the perfect place for a family vacation to remember."

  • Exceptional Value - 5 Bedroom Close to Manhattan..

"This is a home, actually bigger than any home I ever owned. We were searching for a property that had the sleeping capacity and general living space that could accommodate our family with a few teens and 2 kids under 5. This house exceeded our expectations. The price point was significantly lower than an apartment we looked at that was located in Harlem (upper Manhattan) and you could get to any point in New York City in the same, but probably less time. We went to the Statue of Liberty in less than 10 minutes (it is 1.5 miles away), to the World Trade Center which is 7 minutes away and to Time Square in less than 20 minutes. This superior property is located in Jersey City. I will say, initially, we were apprehensive for probably 2 minutes. After we spoke to Steve, the owner, who took the time to explain the traveling logistics, we decided to buy in. We did a price compare for the few 5 bedrooms available in New York, Brooklyn, Queens, etc. and nothing compared to this property. You never needed a cab - all you need is a daily/weekly metro card that you can use 24/7 and you are back and forth in no time. We happened to be on a train going back to our apartment one night and connected with another family staying in Jersey City who stayed in Manhattan last year and said, hands down, this was a far more civilized and easier commute than their place in upper Manhattan. It is worth the stay, you will not be disappointed."

  • Wonderful family, wonderful host.

"The best I can tell you is read the reviews, wonderful place to stay and accommodations were beyond expectations. Mike is a wonderful host. Everything is very easy to get to, bus and train all within walking distance. I highly recommend this host and this property. If you find a less than acceptable review on this host then they had problems before they even arrived. Thanks again hope to get back and stay with you again soon. ps,,tell your mom I said HELLO."
