  • 28th Street cottage

"My wife and I have been renting this cottage every year for many years. One of the reasons we keep returning is because we think it is the ideal summer cottage. While the outside may look dated (compared to today's "McMansions"), inside it has been totally renovated with bright shore-appropriate colors and furniture. Now that it has been raised, it offers a front deck on which to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening or to savor your morning coffee. While there is air-conditioning, being elevated allows you to open the windows and better enjoy the wonderful sea breezes. It is bright and open inside, and roomier than it may appear from the outside. The kitchen has marble counter-tops and the latest appliances, along with every utensil one would want to prepare home-cooked meals during your stay (as we do.) The first floor has a living room adjoining the kitchen, ample seating, a large TV, a full bathroom with a washer and dryer, and a master bedroom with a comfortable queen-size bed. Upstairs are two bedrooms, each with two twin beds, a sitting room with an additional TV, and a half bath -- ideal if you have children or drop-in guests. And with the newly remodeled Acme supermarket just two miles down the boulevard, it is no longer necessary to travel all the way over to the mainland for your grocery needs. Needless to say, we plan to return yearly for as many years as the good Lord lets us."

  • Perfect Beach House

"We have been renting homes at LBI for more than 20 years and this one is the best we've found. I concur in all of the praises given in other reviews: comfortable, roomy, fully equipped, easy to keep clean, wonderful support from owner. In addition to being the briefest of walks to the beach, it still provides great privacy and is also a short walk to a fabulous grocery/market and two top-flight restaurants. And, come sundown, you are a few short blocks from the bay so you can enjoy the light show."

  • Fabulous location in a quiet neighborhood

"We really enjoyed our week on Joan Road. What a quiet family neighborhood. Being only a few houses from the beach and bay made it super convenient with a one year old. Evening walks to the bay to see the sunset were breathtaking. There's also a park there for the little ones! Make sure to take advantage of the front porch. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner sitting on the deck listening to the ocean each day. House has three nice sized bedrooms with plenty of room for all of your things. Living room is large and open. The kitchen and bathroom are brand new. The decorations are adorable and beach themed and I loved that the owner left us a list of all of his favorite places to eat in LBI. We will definitely be back!"

  • Great house for family gatherings

"We threw a birthday weekend party for my husband this weekend in LBI. Altogether, there were 10+ kids under the age of 12 and 12 adults at any given time. The kids loved the bunk rooms and the short walk to the beach; and the adults liked the outdoor spaces, including the grill and hot tub. Jim went above and beyond to accommodate our group. He even set up a long table outside for us and dropped off additional folding chairs. He also set up a brand new gas grill on the third floor. The house is clean with great indoor and outdoor space. The outdoor shower has hot water too, which is really nice. We did not encounter any issues with the house. If you choose to use the towels, you are asked to launder them, so bring some detergent. Also, although he's great to work with and very flexible, you may have to play phone tag with Jim initially to hash out logistics (but it's worth it)! All in all--a great house for families and large group gatherings."
