  • Very enjoyable stay

"This is a very well-equipped 3 BR 2 BA home, full kitchen, plenty of space, wood-stove in the living room, lots of other pluses. Owners were extremely pleasant and accommodating especially when we had to change dates at very short notice. Great communication with them. Ask M about Golden Eagles! Chama is a neat little town. It's well-known as the New Mexico terminus of the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. We visited for the cross-country/back-country skiing at nearby Cumbres Pass. The Continental Divide Trail crosses the road at the pass - this house would be a fantastic roomy place for through-hikers to stop for a couple of days to enjoy the amenities - including super hot showers! Chama has restaurants, a great grocery/hardware/general store [Lowe's], and friendly residents. Along with fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling, as well as hiking, birding, and just hanging out at the cool 10,000' Cumbres Pass watching the train chug by."

  • Winter Wonderland

"This is our third stay over MLK weekend at the Chama House. It's such a beautiful and welcoming place and it makes a great sendoff to the snows of Cumbres Pass."

  • Great place in unique location

"Well designed place with all the amenities off the beaten path. We loved drinking wine on the dock in the evening and looking for wildlife. The stars out at night were amazing to see for city folk such as us. Enjoyed the pond and mounting biking in the neighborhood. Hope to come back."

  • Christmas Stay

"Our family had such a wonderful time at the Lodge in Chama. We made lots of memories together with the little boys, from sledding to the puzzle ( which the grown kids completed!) Charades, and Christmas Dinner, it was all great. Lots of room to spread out. And plenty of bathrooms. We would love to come back in the summertime. no complaints, but two suggestions, more lights throughout the house, and more heat. We would have liked to have a fire, but did not want to smoke up the house."
